LOS ANGELES (AP) Dozens of protesters rallied outside Los Angeles police headquarters Saturday in support of Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD officer and suspected killer of four who died after a shootout and fire this week at a mountain cabin following one of the biggest manhunts in recent memory.
Protesters told the Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/11Ndm6i ) they didn't support Dorner's deadly methods, but objected to police corruption and brutality, and believed Dorner's claims of racism and unfair treatment by the department. Many said they were angered by the conduct of the manhunt that led to Dorner's death and injuries to innocent bystanders who were mistaken for him.
Michael Nam, 30, who held a sign with a flaming tombstone and the inscription "RIP Habeas Corpus," said it was "pretty obvious" police had no intention of bringing Dorner in alive.

Soon to come out:
1) A ‘sympathetic’ movie about Donner directed by Sean Penn
2) A couple dozen rap songs praising Donner
3) A few NBA thugs wearing Donner tattoos
4) Civil Rights march attended by the usual cast of race grievance characters
5) A politician saying if he had a brother, he would look like Donner
6) A bunch of lefty white women dating Donner look-a-likes
7) More media investigation in the name of racial profiling of ANY black getting so much as even a traffic ticket
8) More white guilt by the left
9) Even more gun sales
Let’s see - a “White” Hispanic kills a Black thug in self defense and he must be strung up. On the other hand, a Black thug shot an innocent non-Black woman in the head and kills others who were not threats to him and he must be adored. Dear Jesus, come back soon.
Like he couldnt have got another job. I. Think he was the tacist.
He was a nut job. Good riddance
He was the racist and was supposed to have a free path because he was black. He was another idiot entitled person. I agree
The right to protest is in existence only because a civilized people allow the protest card to exist. Existence with murderers and supporters of murderers is not a civilized society. Dorner became uncivilized. Uncivilized people will not cure societal ills, instead uncivilized people create societal ills. Democrats exploit these types of people for control of civilized people. Civilized people, in our nation, have an ace card. Civilized people will continue to prepare with their ace card. Should the civilized people be made to be outlaws by D.C. through removal of rights, then civilized will walk into the outlaw life. It is the nature of an armed civilized people.
Starring Sean Penn as Dorner.
His treatment was irrelevant in the analysis of the situation. Had he stayed within the bounds of the law, things may have been different. Instead, he decided to become a murderer. There is nothing in any aspect of this situation that deserves discussion, even the stupidity or incompetence of the LAPD in their actions. Those deserve a different discussion. Instead, we get comments like this
He is a highly trained person with specialized training! They will never find him!
He was fighting against injustice in the LAPD!
He is miles away from them, probably laughing at them!
He has them right where he wants them!
“If, in fact, the assertions in Dorners manifesto are even partially true, there is no way he could appeal outside the police department to get a fair and impartial review, short of the extreme measures of which were all now familiar.”
And so on.
In the end, he was just another deranged, violent liberal dipstick who killed innocent people then stumbled and tripped when the noose began tightening.
A 350 pound liberal a-hole who was going to truck around in Big Bear in the winter, covering his tracks in the snow, living under infra-red evading tarps, carrying cans of 50 cal sniper rife ammo with his Barrett slung over one shoulder and a manpad over the other, evading the law like Rambo, etc.
He was a stupid, fat, paranoid slob who didnt have the brainpower to figure out how to survive NORMALLY in a society created in the image of one HE advocated, if his idiotic manifesto was any indication. His manifesto was so lame it made The Unabombers manifesto look intelligent by comparison.
Well, I give him credit. At least he had two brain cells to rub together which caused his finger trigger to contract while the gun was pointed at his own head.
All I can say is thank God the piece of crap is dead. Does anyone really think he would have received a death penalty?
Then, we would have had people with “Free Dorner” (accompanied by the stereotypical “Guerrillero Heroico” Che-like image) in the fashion of the “Free Mumia” idiots.
Hell, he would have eventually got out of prison after living in there at our expense.
I think it’s telling that the press is doing a no more than average job of conflating those who support Dorner with those who question the tactics used by police, and the number of current FReepers who recognize that fact seems to be vanishingly small.
Absolutely unacceptable to target family. Wish he hadn't ate a bullet and felt the flames turning his flesh to goop. But then, maybe that's why he did shoot himself.
I don't think he was a whackjob. He was too methodical in his actions and allowing the cabin owners to live shows he was in full control of his mental faculties. He was just a murdering pr*ck with an agenda. Glad he's dead.
If the SHTF and a guerilla type resistance were to start, I would never help anyone who targets innocent families - never. It's just all kinds of wrong.
Most probably showed up for the free B-B-Q.
Your words and attitude are the words of a civilized person. Thanking and Praising God, people as yourself exist.
Read some of the stupid comments at the yahoo site on this article. Good grief. Anti-Bush is at fault for crashing airplanes into the WTC, murdering poor people in Iraq, etc. is the reason this happened. I simply cannot rap my mind around the stupidity of people these days. That there are actually idiots out there that believe this crap. It just amazes me how stupid America has become. Really, really, stupid.
Actually they’re just everyday average liberals. They’ve been doing this kind of crap for decades. Worshiping cop killers, killers in general, terrorists, tyrants, rapists, child rapists (consider the deification of the worlds most blatant pedophile Michael Jackson) even serial killers and it’s really not a small percentage. They are pretty much ALL like this and for those who do not think so, then all I can say is you are not looking close enough.
For example how many people out there know actress Susan Sarandon literally named her first male born child after a killer? After killer Jack Henry Abbott? Ever hear the saying “I’m going to name my first male born child after you”? Well, she actually did that, but for a killer. How would you like that? Mom names you after a killer. How about being named after Jeffrey Dahmer or John Waynce Gacy? Yes ladies and gentlemen, the are *that* effed up!
It is funny that just a few short days ago there was a item on here about LAPD confiscating or out right stealing weapons taken from law abiding citizens. There was rightly an outrage expressed on this site.
This is the same site that expresses support for others who take up arms against tyranny. The suggestion is frequently repeated here. Dorner was wrong and cruel, but not much differnt than those for whom he worked.
There was support expressed on this site when an individual flew a plane into an IRS building a few years ago.
I fail to see how Dorner is significantly different.
Am I to assume that we here support police copruption? LAPD is certainly rife with corruption. Do we support kicking retarded arrestees, or any other handcuffed individual? Sorry, even our military doesn’t do that. Do we support cops firing wildly at people in a pick up because it matched a description? That is outrageous conduct by law enforcement and again, rules of engagement forbid such action by our mililtary, why would we accept it by the police? Clearly the officers that shot the BOA robbery suspects years ago let them bleed out and die, demonstrating their wish to kill who they choose. They clearly intended to kill Dorner, yet we object when the government wishes to use drones to remove suspected terrorists, us citizen or other wise. And of course we often post pictures of the LA riots showing how police fail to serve when most needed.
Many police take property unjustly. They act in an egotistical, aggressive, vengeful, self serving manner, they care little about those they are charged to protect. They view themselves as an occupying army and conduct themselves accordingly. They talk about us against them when they are supposed to be an extension of us, of the rule of law. I am a supporter of law and order and the police departments, but not of the methods they often employ. Most police are nothing more than bullies.
But don’t forget, Dorner was one of them. He was overly aggressive when it served his agenda, he was vengeful, self serving, he was one of them. The entertaining thing about this whole venture is the cops seemingly fired the only member of their force capable of shooting and waging a one man war. Given police behavior they should have kept Dorner to further thier agenda, but sadly he thought kicking retarded people was wrong, but surely they could have made him see the light.
I’m sure to get censored or booted off of here, but doewsn’t anyonoe else see the hypocrisy in this?

Federal constitutional standards permit law enforcement officers to use deadly force to apprehend criminal suspects when there is "probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a threat of serious physical harm...to the officer or to others..." and if deadly force "is necessary" to effect the apprehension.1 This formulation of the constitutional rule by the Supreme Court suggests two factors - dangerousness and necessity - as relevant to the question whether deadly force is constitutionally permissible.
Looks like the media goofed up, and forget to run the numbers through the "Calypso Louis Million Man Math Converter."
No. Do we support every political person with an R behind his/her name? No!
Dorner was wrong and cruel, but not much different than those for whom he worked.
How many of those for whom Dorner worked shot a young woman in the face and killed her?
They clearly intended to kill Dorner
You have definite proof of that in your possession?
. Most police are nothing more than bullies.
Where did you acquire that information? A university study?
But dont forget, Dorner was one of them.
Dorner was also a Navy Reservist. Are you going to indict everyone who served our country in the Navy?
