Tens of thousands of Americans who cannot get health insurance because of preexisting medical problems will be blocked from a program designed to help them because funding is running low.
Obama administration officials said Friday that the state-based high-risk pools set up under the 2010 health-care law will be closed to new applicants as soon as Saturday and no later than March 2, depending on the state.
But they stressed that coverage for about 100,000 people who are now enrolled in the high-risk pools will not be affected.
Were being very careful stewards of the money that has been appropriated to us and we wanted to balance our desire to maximize the number of people who can gain from this program while making sure people who are in the program have coverage, said Gary Cohen, director of the Department of Health and Human Services Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight. This was the most prudent step for us to take at this point in time.

Send the bill to Nancy. Maybe if she gets enough of them she will realize what a stupid ass she really is.
I guess all of the yet to be born hemophiliacs will have to get their clotting factors with out of pocket expenditures.
Our son, single father, and our grandson both have pre-exising conditions. They have no insurance and we are really concerned about the coming 0care and its high cost that our son will be made to purchase.
I thought ObamaCare made it law you can't be denied for pe-existing conditions?
Of course this doesn't mean they can't charge you an am and leg.

Everyone has pre-existing conditions.
It’s already falling apart, and most of it hasn’t even gone into effect yet.
So saith DHHS now.
Right after the election
As private health care closes down and the Government takes over , people who DO have health insurance now will be unprotected.
This is nothing but a huge Boondoggle, that one day 5 years from now the Democrats will try to blame on Republicans or George Bush.
Actually once fully in force they can’t. They have to charge everyone a “community” rate. That means old farts like me will get a bargin, while young healthy people pay through the nose. Well I guess they can charge EVERYONE. An arm and a leg.....
That’s not a bug, that’s a feature. It was designed to fail so that the sheeple would accept single payer...
Verified benefits for a potential new patient of one of my doctor clients last month. Pt is in a high risk pool. Lady at insurance carrier explained plan to me and stated “It’s all government funded and honey, there are lots of fingers in that pot so be careful because there’s not much money left”. Told pt they would have to pay contract rate and then if insurance paid, we would refund his money. Insurance denied because funds for billing period were exhausted. Pt had no idea what kind of a plan he was in and thought it paid “for everything”. So buyer beware.
You want to go the the corner grocery store to get a bottle of milk.
You walk there and buy the milk and walk home. Cost - a few bucks and half and hour of time.
Under zero care: You have to wait for the 747 to load up the whole neighborhood and then fly to a different store in a different state where there is no milk left in the government store. And it cost “only” 50 per cent of your paycheck. And you still have to walk home.
“As private health care closes down and the Government takes over, people who DO have health insurance now will be unprotected.” Along with all those who were promised to be protected under uncle sugar.
The whole intent of the program is to bankrupt the private medical industry and replace it with a govt run system.
But it can never have enough funding unless they rape all of our private savings and investments. And even then it will be on the level of Cuba or worse.
It is all about control. People control.
You cannot “insure” pre-existing conditions.
The problem is that we’ve destroyed our productive economy to the point where there is no longer enough “slack” to carry those who have such conditions that require expensive care.
A vibrant and healthy economy allows for society to bear the costs of those whose life depends on expensive treatments, drugs, procedures that they cannot pay for.
An over-regulated, anemic socialist economy will leave those people to die.
The natural reaction if you have one of these conditions, or have a loved one with the same is to “socialize” the costs for them - but it is exactly the wrong solution.
The private market has gotten so expensive, and medicaid has reached the point of non-performance that it is probably unavoidable that many of the poor souls with chronic pre-existing conditions dependent upon expensive medical care will either spend their lives waiting in line for socialized care (if lucky) or will die waiting for “the system” to provide the care that they need simply to live.
Socialism won’t get the blame, by the way. Only “greedy” people who simply want to keep a portion of their own moey will.
The Single Payer Solution...
Coming to theaters near you in 2014.
Never let a manufactured crisis go to waist.
Yeah, it's called Obamaosis.
