I have a better idea: How about he draft legislation that would require him to go to jail when he commits a crime?
Although I am opposed to women being in front line combat units, if they want equality, then so be it. Draft away....
About time! Too many women sitting on the sidelines saying “Whatever” about women in the military. Make them all register for the draft. Let them know that if there’s a big war, we’ll be drafting lots of people for the Infantry. Give them all camouflage prom dresses. They have kids? Who cares. You want equality, here it comes. Women can take a bullet in the head as well as a man can.

Women SHOULD be required to sign up for the Selective Service.
You want to march around with short hair, covered with tattoos, and hairy legs like you are some tough bad ass? Then sign up for the draft!
Personally I want little fat people (Rangel especially) to lead any army as they make GREAT targets.
If we had an army of fat idiots that would wear down the enemy quicker, waste their ammo - then those of us who know what we are doing could totally destroy the enemy who by that time is bored, tired and about out of ammo.
Most everyone is missing the point in Rangel’s repeated calls for a draft.
We don’t need to draft anyone for our military readiness. The all volunteer force is a success. Having conscripts is a recipe for disaster — which is Rangel’s real objective.
He doesn’t give a damn about military readiness — he’s simply trying to create an anti-war movement by calling for a draft.

I’m with Charlie on this. If chicks are good for the front, they’re good for the draft. And I agree with the previous poster this would drive the pregnancy rate up dramatically.

Draft women? They’d only draft the working class daughters for the dirtier, more dangerous specialties. They’d be a harem for the rest. Diseases would run rampant—even in the multitudes of resulting babies owned by the government.
Most Americans would cease to buy anything, stop working and become rather more nonpolitical. So go right on ahead, political/regulator folks. Do it.
It’s hard to believe I agree with Rangel on this. If women want equality, they should get all that comes with it.
