It’s the reason I don’t care for tattoos. I first saw that tattoo watching men doing hand work on a production line. It was shocking to see because I knew what it meant. Later I discovered what Nazis did with prisoners’ more ornate tattoos.

It is hurtful to see. I met some Poles in NYC in the 70’s that lost their whole family except for themselves and 2 daughters. They hid in caves and Paul stole food at night. The stories were very frightening.

I too am of an age to think of tattoos as prisoner or slave related. The military tattoos that started in special groups during WWII were often in movies and newsreels.

It still did not make them anything but related to bad events.

Today I see the ornate ones and can not understand WHY?
