From a shipboard auxiliary engineering perspective there is no excuse for this despite the power outage. The plumbing can be routed to facilitate manual clearing - unless their engineer is as drunk as the Italian “look kids the eiffel tower” captain.

It seems like a lot of cruise ships are having problems; i.e. tipping over, virus infections etc. etc. If the assertion that the industry is having problems is correct one wonders why.

Carnival Cruises are notorious for attracting the worst white trash around. This is also isn’t the first time this has happened.
I remember some FR threads where this is the typical aftermath of a "gay cruise".
I am not fond of any place where I have to depend upon someone else for a)personal safety and I can’t personally defend myself b)food and shelter c)and where I can’t simply walk away. I’d be more paranoid than a General worried about the contamination of his precious body fluids.
Maybe Carnival will give them a discount for a future cruise.
