Superman fans are up in arms at the decision of the publisher to appoint a noted anti-gay writer to pen the Man of Steel's latest adventures.
Comic giant DC has commissioned Orson Scott Card, author of the award-winning and best-selling Ender's Game sci-fi series, to write for DC's Adventures of Superman series. The digital comic is set to be published in April.
The news has sparked a furious backlash from Card's critics. Card is a long-time critic of homosexuality and has called gay marriage "the end of democracy in America". In 2009 he became a board member of the National Organization for Marriage, a group that campaigns against same-sex marriage.

See what happens when you don’t follow the party line? They hound you and try to destroy you.
I haven’t read all the “Ender” books; “Enders Game” and “Speaker for the Dead” were excellent.
As a youngster, I was a super fan of Superman comics, I knew everything there was to know about the character.
I knew that he liked “Lois Lane”, not Lawrence Lane.
The hissy fit being thrown by the gay lobby is the potential swaying of young minds, recruitment, if you will.
The basic job of the writer is not to promote the gay lifestyle, let the gays publish their own comic book, and see how it sells.
The new ‘Man of Steel’ movie scheduled for June is rumored to feature a ‘Jenny Olsen’ instead of ‘Jimmy’...we already know that Perry White will be portrayed by black actor Laurence Fishburne...PC rules with an iron fist. I expect DC to cave under pressure from the sodomite lobby...
Its insidious. I found this article on how to become a famous photographer and it became apparent that to become a famous photographer requires being gay, hanging around with gay people, and taking bad gay photos.
However I do find it interesting that many of the responses seem to push back against the ideology based world of critics who care little about quality and ideology is all.

Thank God, Van Gogh and DaVinci don’t have to face today’s critics.
So I guess folks in Hollywood feel a blacklist is OK so long as it’s not THEIR politics that are being blacklisted.
This is probably in damage control over the making of one of the green lanterns in an alternate universe into a homosexual.
That failed utterly.
If anything this is a definite BUYcott situation.
Buy superman comics and items, hopefully the new movie will be worth watching. (remember hollyweird keeps pushing to have jimmy olson become homosexual and marketing keeps shooting that down)
the alternative universe green lantern numbers must be in and it must not be pretty.
If they “poof” up Superman they will kill off the movie. DC will then have failed in the movie arena and conceeded the field to Marvel (now owned by Disney)
It would put the Justice league movie at risk of being canceled or worse, reduced budget for direct to dvd.
Indeed... what IS “anti-gay”?
He’s just an advocate of the preservation of natural marriage.

The most disturbing point from this article is this quote:
“”Actor Michael Hartney, who describes himself as “as big a Superman fan as you’ll ever meet”, has written to DC voicing his concerns about Card.
“If this was a Holocaust denier or a white supremacist, there would be no question. Hiring that writer would be an embarrassment to your company. Well, Card is an embarrassment to your company, DC,”””
So basically if you are a practicing Christian or Jew you are the same as Holocaust denier or a white supremacist.
Orson Scott Card actually made the point in argument against gay marriage that gay marriage was not about gay couples having rights but about the government being able to ban Christian thought as hate speech once it was passed. It’s seems this idiot proves his point.
Michael Hartney proves stupid is as stupid does. he apparently likes to make movies but does not like audiences.
Well,it does. At least with regard to magazines where hiring decisions are based on schmoozing with the gay men who make the hiring decisions.

I thought you were just kidding about that picture so I looked it up. Wow. All I can say is that it’s a pretty bland picture to be worth so much. Either I don’t have much of an artist’s eye or somebody got ripped off.
Also for those interested, they are making a movie of Ender's Game, coming out this November. Like any movie from a book, it will have changes, but I am still looking forward to it.

I’m sure some wealthy liberal spends a great deal of time with friends contemplating and discussing the photo and the “constrained” rivers of the world.
So the comics code in the fifites kicked out overt heterosexual and extreme violence, gore imagery so it could be replaced with queer sex fifty years later. makes perfect sense in topsey-turvey land.Oh, they were definitely concerned about homosexuality in comics during the 50's.
