Excuse me....but doesn’t the House pass any funding bills? Is The First Marxist going to pay for all those foreclosures from his campaign stash? He certainly can’t write the checks from the U.S. Treasury....unless the toothless, worthless GOP cowards in the House roll over again.

Y’know. The ‘important stuff’. JOBS and the economy don’t exist. The global caliphate of fagdom is important.

working around a recalcitrant Congress

We used to think that having three branches of government was a good thing -- but Obama has shown us how foolish we were. So let it be written. So let it be done.

It’s high time that the conservatives in Congress and the other elected representatives honor their oathes by drawing a red line on the steps of the White House defending the Constitution.

allow struggling homeowners Democrats to refinance their mortgages.

The only loans that will be affected will be GSE loans through Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac which means -low income borrowers. That means Democrats. that means they're taking from Republicans and giving to Democrats.

In 1992, President George H.W. Bush signed the Housing and Community Development Act of 1992.[15] The Act amended the charter of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to reflect Congress' view that the GSEs "... have an affirmative obligation to facilitate the financing of affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families in a manner consistent with their overall public purposes, while maintaining a strong financial condition and a reasonable economic return;"[16] For the first time, the GSEs were required to meet "affordable housing goals" set annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and approved by Congress. The initial annual goal for low-income and moderate-income mortgage purchases for each GSE was 30% of the total number of dwelling units financed by mortgage purchases[17] and increased to 55% by 2007.

In 1999, Fannie Mae came under pressure from the Clinton administration to expand mortgage loans to low and moderate income borrowers by increasing the ratios of their loan portfolios in distressed inner city areas designated in the CRA of 1977.[18] Additionally, institutions in the primary mortgage market pressed Fannie Mae to ease credit requirements on the mortgages it was willing to purchase, enabling them to make loans to subprime borrowers at interest rates higher than conventional loans.[18]

What kind of weird congress would pass legislation giving such wide latitude to the executive branch? That’s a dereliction of duty.

Would someone please tell me what the role of the Executive Branch is these days? So much for division of powers and checks and balances. One man, and a bunch of unelected cronies, strong arming their way to get what they want in the Supreme Court, bypassing Congress, ruling by decree, chastising anyone from the other branches of government that don't do their bidding, going after private firms that give honest assessments of the economic disaster they created (i.e. Standard and Poor’s).

What exactly makes Obama different than Chavez?

RE :”provide new protections for gays and lesbians,”

??? Protections? How about requiring by law gay men inform other gay men of their HIV status before sex (term loosely used)?

He's the symbolist POTUS. He cares, that's all that counts.

make buildings more energy-efficient” - now how does he do that? Regulations. What are the odds this one will affect all of us? When we go to sell our homes, will we get some energy efficient rating, have to meet some standard, get penalized, pay some tax???

Can he just stop trying to destroy what little freedom we have left?
