The entertainment industry is too big and powerful, but that will change. What will not change is that the nation is losing its values.
The last election has brought on essays bemoaning the conservative disconnect from popular culture and the need to somehow reconnect with it. The means of this reconnection are hardly ever stated, though there is the implication that conservatives would need to “evolve” on certain social issues in the hopes that its economic viewpoint will be taken seriously by a population whose social way of life doom it to be dependent on government support.
As plans go, this one is nearly as clever as trying to promote weight loss by opening a cake shop. And it ignores the obvious reality that the only way that conservatives will be allowed to participate in popular culture is as the butt of a joke. Whether it’s Sarah Palin’s appearance on Saturday Night Live or Rush Limbaugh’s Family Guy appearance, trying to be a good sport about liberal culture is the strategy of a good loser playing into the prepared stereotype, rather than destroying it.
The culture is polarized. That means there is no place for conservatives in it except by playing the villain’s part, and the villain’s part, whether played with good humor or reluctantly, is not the winning part. But it’s also a mistake to call it the culture, when what we really mean is the culture created and perpetuated by a small number of corporations, their affiliated creatives and their affiliated press.
Take Girls, an HBO series that is one part nepotism and nine parts artificially generated corporate trend, that was recently the subject of several essays insisting that we take it seriously because it is “the culture”...

Electoral success won’t come until some Republicans gain the ability to articulate positive messages of policy and goals that appeal to the electorate in a way that can’t be poisoned by the MSM. And that ability has been made greatly more difficult since pop culture and the MSM have been wholly captured by the manna-from-heaven Democrats.
The MSM has also made use of its poisoning ability to conduct long-term campaigns against politicians (its 6-year negative campaign against GWB) and preventive wars against hopeful candidates (Sarah Palin first, and the tea party, now Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio and Rand Paul).
Obama’s anonymously-funded and unaccountable OFA is also capable of far worse, owning databases of activists and intimate connections inside the government.
In other words, the GOP had better get cracking with articulating its own message, and pointing out the hazards of monster government in terms immediately meaningful to the blokes on the street. Philosophical essays about principles are not enough.
I think Jesse Watters is fantastic. I just love when he is interviewing people for O’Reilly. He is always charming and non confrontational. He has a way of making liberals look like idiots but they still like him.
There is already a Conservative Force available but because we include ourselves in the Republican Party we are diluted and the Country Club Republicans and the Liberal Media creates us as minorities and irrelevant.
WE need to be a separate party and split the GOP and force the media to concentrate on US instead of the Spineless Republican Leadership who “just wants to get along”.
We need to be the Spartans and not the Greek Army. (Remember the fact that the Greek Army could not get organized and bickered about who was in charge, how and where to fight.)
Meanwhile the Spartans KNEW where to stand and fight.

Yes, but it also shows the consequences of horrible values; lack of real relationships, lack of income potential, and depression.

That counter culture is emerging. Check out Sherwood Pictures, Pureflix.com and pjmedia.com. Let’s stop supporting Hollywood and start making a lot of purchases from these groups. Also if anyone knows of any other conservative independent media, please share the information.
In every country that it conquered, the Communist Party started with a small but highly dedicated group of revolutionaries. It is still in control of approximately 2 Billion people in the world today.
Conservatives are lazy and want someone else to save the nation for them. One day there will not be a nation we will care to save.
You’re not the only one:) I caught a couple of episodes during a hotel stay when HBO was included in the cost of the room.
It doesn’t portray these “girls” or the left in a positive light when looking through the lens of maturity, self-worth or values of the right.
But when looking through the lens of the left and what many young “girls” believe today, the show makes perfect sense and is the norm.
As I was watching, all I could think was gross. And how doughy the one actress was. I was thinking she should probably hit up a gym instead of hanging on the street corner.
The tea party conservatives are not lazy. The gun grabbers have energized a segment of the conservatives that are not lazy. Communism will not take hold with these patriots standing guard.
I’ll put this out to you and anybody that is reading this.
A counter-culture is never going to be from the TOP.
Counter-Cultural movements, by definition come from a mass of people that rebel against the Current culture.
The “ Current” culture of today is the complete opposite of what it was in the 1970s.
While the players have changed what they will be fighting for is the same. Less Government control of their lives, the question has been shifted to the one of Self.
Can you imagine the average narcissist giving any time for the “Greater Good”?
They may pretend to care, but when push comes to shove, they don’t give a rats ass for the other guy.
These are lost souls.
This is the target of the new counter culture.
Supporting good culture is always a winner wherever it comes from.
