Many of the rebel leaders were sharia-loving members of al Qaeda who had come from jihadist strongholds in the cities of Derna and Benghazi, which are so tied up in Islamist fundamentalism that they were major exporters of guerrilla warriors who fought the US in Iraq.

Will take this sentence one football field further and state that state and defense departments and obama knew the weapons captured in libya would go to turkey then syria via major exporters in libya via islamist fundamentalists who this time had not only guerrilla warriors to export to syria but also weapons.

So what this is saying is that Brennan fudged up and as a reward Obama is making him CIA director.

Sounds about right.

Obama wouldn’t be the first: Wilson had House to do his stuff, and FDR loved to have his own people working outside of channels.

None of this explains why 20 to 30 people were supposed to be abandoned and left for dead with American and other friendly assets overhead or nearby. This does multiply the treason though.

Sources: Key task force not convened during Benghazi consulate attack

CBS News has learned that during the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, the Obama Administration did not convene its top interagency counterterrorism resource: the Counterterrorism Security Group, (CSG).

"The CSG is the one group that's supposed to know what resources every agency has. They know of multiple options and have the ability to coordinate counterterrorism assets across all the agencies," a high-ranking government official told CBS News. "They were not allowed to do their job. They were not called upon."

Yes, of course, the Democrats (who daily wet their pants over the Contras) would nominate Brennan for CIA. Nope, this doesn’t pass the common sense test.

“This is what really happened in Benghazi, and this is why the Obama administration is more than happy to have the media fixated on red herrings at the consulate or wound up in an intellectual Gordian knot about some YouTube video.”

I think the video was a plant by the Obama Team. If we still had a press - rather than flacks rewriting White House press releases they could check into YOUTube and find out about the 'viewers'. I caught an early link from Drudge and watched the 'number of viewers' move up faster than possible. Looked manipulated...

Guess who all’s still missing?

The surviving witnesses!

We have yet to hear from them, right along with the unfit, absentee CIC.

The Post article is propaganda. You can *know* this because the article can’t explain *why* Stevens was in Benghazi on 9/11, hundreds of miles away from his embassy, and the article can’t explain *why* we haven’t bombed the people we saw kill Stevens.

The article pretends that JSOC is running a hit campaign in Africa instead of the truth that Stevens and the State Department were bypassing the CIA to run militia and weapons (possibly even mustard gas) from Benghazi to the anti-Assad rebels in Syria.

Look at my hand in the South, the article shouts! (ignore my hand in the North)
