Thanks to Fox News and its expert commentators, millions of Americans now understand the real, hidden reason why Germany's solar-energy industry is so much further along than ours. Turns out it has nothing to do with the fact that Germany's government has long supported the industry far more generously, with policies like feed-in tariffs that stimulate investment in green technologies. No, the real reason is much simpler, explained a trio of journalists on Fox & Friends: It's always sunny in Germany!

“...to claim that Germany has a great deal more sun than the US is asinine.”
99+% of Germany is farther north than the Continental US, farther north than our northern border with Canada. In terms of sun benefit it is on a par with Alaska, and maybe a little worse off. See the photovoltaic visual in the full article.
Germany just ended the FIT for projects larger than 10MW. Projects larger than that must find a buyer for their energy before they build and they must freely negotiate the price of that energy with the buyer.
These solar plants in Germany must produce next to nothing in the winter time. It is pretty overcast much of the time.
“Fox News Claims Solar Won’t Work in America Because It’s Not Sunny Like Germany”
I was stationed in Bamberg Germany from January 1971 to January 1972.
I don’t recall seeing much sun there at all, in the months of November into March .

Today the four German transmission system operators (TSOs) officially announced the surcharge for renewable energy pursuant to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) for 2013, the so-called EEG surcharge (EEG Umlage).
As widely expected it will rise from 3.592 ct/kWh in 2012 to 5.277 ct/kWh in 2013, constituting an increase of 46.9%. Consumers that cannot reclaim the (additional) 19% VAT will pay 6.28 ct/kWh in total...
It’s Always Sunny in Bamberg.
Columbus, Ohio...
I can't speak for the Feds, but here they do it by making wood burning illegal...
One unknown FOX reporter makes a stupid statement and the FOX-bashers fly out of their caves like bats at sundown. You have more trust in Media Matters?
I always want to spell it, "Fok-Snooze."
By not charging me a Cord Wood Tax or a Chimney Emissions Fee?
I base calling that a subsidy on the same governmental logic as requiring tax cuts to be "paid for".
So Columbus discovered the United States of America? I thought he discovered Nassau, or was it the Virgin Islands?
It has been unwatchable for years.
It was a dumb statement made by a person purported to be an expert on a certain topic.
Topics are chosen by the show producers, not the host...and most conversations are scripted via a background teleprompter.
My German relatives would beg to differ on Germany being more troubling “sunny”. I am sure the German Air Force will now close their Base in New Mexico since Germany is more sunny
Fox is just as stupid as the other Liberal MSM.....and sensible Americans fighting the Global Warming Hoax nonsense do not need Fox to be stupid
Exactly. I stopped watching it years ago. When Bill O'Reilly came in, I went out. Never got interested again, except when Sarah Palin or Michelle Malkin was on.
Does Solar actually “work” in Germany? Not “does it generate electricity” — you can do that with solar just about anywhere. But is it cost-effective in Germany? My guess is no.
Solar works just fine in America, it’s just that we aren’t yet quite stupid enough to waste money on something that cost twice as much as using abundant resources like coal and natural gas. But we are getting there.
