Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) admitted to David Gregory on Meet the Press today that the Obama sequestration plan was just a political game and was never intended to move forward.

“David, sequestration was designed as a budget threat, not as a budget strategy. And, I think all of us understand that if it goes forward in less than three weeks it’s going to have a dramatic negative impact on several agencies.”

That is BS.Sequestration was meant as a win/win plan which is on the road to winning/winning. It would either cut back the military which is WIN for the Left or it would get acquiescence from the Republican section of the Democrat Party which would also be a WIN. Durbin’s right. They expected the Republicans to blink on the defense cuts. The trouble is, North Korea’s ICBM threatens the caliphate, so Obama needs more defense money. When even Ted Kopel and Bob Woodward talk about these being the most perilous times for America that they can remember, it becomes clear that Obama’s jihad is provoking interest in unexpected quarters.

I am watching the talking heads on TV. They always ask the same question of the Republicans: "what are the political implications of the sequester?"

I never hear the correct answer which would be something like: "The political implications are irrelevant compared to the implications for the future of the country."
