BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. The hunt in the snowy mountains for a former Los Angeles police officer suspected in three killings continued Saturday as police announced they will reopen the disciplinary proceedings that led to the fugitive's firing. Officials will particularly re-examine Christopher Dorner's allegations that his law enforcement career was undone by racist colleagues, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck told KCBS-TV. He also urged Dorner to surrender.
"If he was to give himself up, we'd be happy to hear what he has to say," Beck said. Authorities suspect Dorner in a series of attacks in Southern California over the past several days that left three people dead, including a police officer. Authorities say he has vowed revenge against several former LAPD colleagues who he blamed for ending his career.
A scaled-back search party took advantage of a break from stormy weather Saturday to hunt for Dorner in the San Bernardino mountains using heat-sensing helicopters. Officers also fanned out in fresh snow near Big Bear Lake as vacationing families and weekend skiers frolicked nearby.

Dorner mentions ownership of the Barrett and other "scary guns" in his manifesto.
Believe it was in the manifesto....the Barrett
> Under orders from Eric the Red via Obamugabe, no doubt.
TOM
(sick of the expression)
Listen. What *is* these reds?
Ever’time you turn aroun’ somebody
sayin’ somebody else’s a red. What
is these reds, anyway?
- “The Grapes of Wrath”, screenplay by Nunnally Johnson, based on the novel “The Grapes Of Wrath” by John Steinbeck.
Try to imagine this poison-brained cretin serving as a veteran LAPD officer.
Right. He'd probably do something stupid...like firing >40 rounds into a vehicle and wounding two petite, old paper delivery ladies and the surrounding neighborhood.
Wait....LAPD's gonna have to do a lot of firing if they want to get rid of all of the poison-brained cops.
I read the first few pages of the manifesto. If what is written about the behavior in the department it is pretty bad. Taking photos of victims of crime and accidents and then sharing them to see who has the most gruesome picture. He accuse COPS of lying n court rather than admit an arrest mistake and letting innocent people wrangle with the system and facing jail.
Does that kind of thing really take place?
Some folks simply don’t undertand the totalitarian mind even when they themselves have one.
Too bad Beck won't make the same offer to newspaper delivery gals.
ROFL.
this: http://boywithgrenade.org/2013/02/07/christopher-dorners-manifesto/ site claims to have the uncensored manifesto.
He is getting a lot of attention.
I've been out of the news loop on a business trip since this started, so I'm probably not up to speed.
He has killed three people so far, right? Have any of them been on his "specific target list"?
And the latest lead is his truck, stuck in the mud, set on fire still loaded with weapons and survival gear?
For all of the attention he's getting and all the bluster in his manifesto, a week later, he's not a very effective revenge seeker.
IIRC, Dorner owns a home in Nevada. He could have easily purchased a Barret there.
He has not been captured or killed. He has had many years to plan. He has investigators chasing shadows and line personnel shooting newspaper delivery people! Underestimate this psycho at your own peril!
He needs killing! He most likely has drop locations for vehicles, weapons , food , etc. He knows how law enforcement works. He has made plans and he has help!
“Does that kind of thing really take place?”
Don’t you watch the “Investigation Discovery” channel? :-)
It will be, or at least they will say it was.
RIMMER: It's time we decided who's going to take the one man escape pod.
CAT: How?
RIMMER: Well, if you'll just bear with me, I think I've devised a fair and equitable system of choosing who should survive. It's based on age, rank, seniority, usefulness, and to cut a long story short, it's me. I was a stunned as you are, which is why I demanded a recount. Well, blow me if it didn't come out as me again. Keys.
LISTER: Rimmer, the escape pod is not an option.
RIMMER: Why not?
LISTER: It escaped last Thursday. I was having a few beers, I couldn't be bothered moving so I used the release mechanism as a bottle opener.
Whhoossshhh.
RIMMER: That's it then, we're finished.
Having lived in LA, I can tell you he would fit in.
