PHOENIX -- A Valley teen died Friday after he allegedly broke into a Phoenix residence and was shot by the homeowner.
Phoenix Police said a man returned to his home in the area of 7500 W. Weldon late Friday morning to discover that his carport door was open.
The homeowner entered through his front door and discovered that his house had been ransacked.
As he entered the house, two suspects ran out the carport door. Two more suspects then ran from the bedroom area of the home, with one of the men, later identified as 16-year-old Mario Barcenas, reportedly running at the homeowner.
The homeowner was carrying a handgun at the time and shot Barcenas with one round.
The police were called to the home and Barcenas was taken to the hospital where he eventually died.
Police are still investigating the case, but said it appears as if the homeowner was acting in self-defense. No charges have currently been filed.
The three other suspects in the case have yet to be located.
Compare & contrast with LAPD.
one out of four. One shot one kill.
Capping just one of the four will cut crime down greatly. Not only one less criminal....but the three still alive will be a little hesitant each time they try to commit another crime...and will bolt if they feel they might get capped
Lol. Seems our citizens are better shots than the LAPD!!
In some states that’s exactly what would happen. Not sure about AZ but in Fla, that would be the case.
If homeowner needs help with defense, perhaps Jessie Jackson could help him also.
Alleged teen? Yep they don’t know if he was a teen or not!
Well to be fair the LAPD does set the bar exceptionally low. Almost as low as the NYPD.
Good thing his firearm wasn’t locked up in a safe.
This is just awful to have happened.
If there is one, I’d like to contribute to a fund to help defray the costs the homeowner will now have to pay for his carpets, rugs, hole in the wall...
Feel bad for the parents, but you don’t violate a man’s castle.
and . . if you have any further info, you can report it in Spanish as well. Is this a great country or what?
Bottom of article: “Police ask anyone with any information to call the Phoenix Police Department Violent Crimes Bureau at 602-262-6141 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish.”
Remember all the liberal cries that enforcement of immigration laws would lessen “the interaction between the Hispanic community and the police”? Let see how many rat out their brown “bruthas”.
The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he later died. He was identified as 16-year-old Mario Barcenas.
The other suspects fled the scene. Police set up a perimeter, but they were not located. They are described as young Hispanic males with short hair.

With an alleged high-power, hollow-point, cop-killer, armor piercing boolit from a high-capacity assault weapon.
Well, at least this shooter didn’t have his house wired with an audio/video surveillance system similar to the one used by that retired State Department security officer in MN.
