The video of Obama sitting stone faced when this conservative doctor slammed the Obama government for high taxes and high debt if priceless.

As I listened, I watched Obama. Sat stone faced. At one point, he used to fingers towards his eye, rubbing his face, the fore finger and middle. Michelle clapped many times, Obama only at the end of the speech. Carson got a standing ovation, Obama last to stand for it. Obama was not amused.

We should start promoting this man for President. His mother was one of 24 children- she married at age 13 and taughter her boys no excuses would be allowed. She made them do book reports twice a week. Love the use of his parables and the talk about complex tax system. Used 10% tithing as example for taxes. No loopholes, just give 10% of what you make and be done.

I didnt really know this about Carson!

My teacher read us his book (Gifted Hands) in elementary school. I actually remember really liking the story even though it wasn’t even a kids book.

Carson is right. Obama is just a symptom of a deteriorating society. Unless the culture changes we can look for more ‘bread and circuses’ style presidents who seek to assume more and more power in the executive branch—until we wind up with an actual dictator.

The outstanding man at the podium should be President. The shrinking little figure to his right should be organizing some community in Chicago....but that would mean dodging bullets.

It should be obvious to the Black voters in this country which man their children should emulate, but unfortunately, they’ve fallen for the free ObamaPhones and welfare checks that will continue to enslave them.

By the way, Bob “The Bullshooter” Beckel excoriated Dr. Carson on “The Five” yesterday. He insisted criticizing the president was unacceptable at the National Prayer Breakfast. Where in the First Amendment is that stipulation written, Bob?

I don’t think that most Americans are particularly wedded to Obama and what he represents, but they do need to see a credible alternative.

In his interview with Williams on Friday, Carson said likened the United States to the ancient Roman civilization.

“The Roman Empire was very, very much like us,” he told Williams. “They lost their moral core, their sense of values in terms of who they were. And after all of those things converged together, they just went right down the tubes very quickly.

“When you look at America, it’s not too hard to see great similarities. We’ve spread ourselves all over the place. We have incredible expenses. We don’t adjust — and, consequently, we expand the deficit and the debt and entitlement programs, and not living within our means and not adjusting programs and not adjusting people’s expectations.

“When it comes to wanting things, people don’t really care about the national debt,” Carson said. “They don’t really care about the future; they just care about, ‘Give me my check so I can eat next week.’

“That’s understandable, but we have not created the right kinds of expectations — and we really need to start doing that or we will face a similar fate.”

So, who “communicated” to Dr. Carson that he should clarify that he was not castigating “the One we gave been waiting for”?

It’s almost amusing how sensitive the Leftists are to even indirect criticism. It’s as if they would run a campaign based on nothing but sly criticism just to win an election...

I heard Dr. Carson speak at a fundraiser for a local charter school about ten years ago. He’s one of my all time heroes. So is his mother.

He’s right, and so is is follow up. Conservatism is about values, and policies based on those values. It’s not personal as is liberalism. For liberals, politics is personal, and personal is always political.

Especially since this Doc is black and from poverty and is a successful surgeon AND did it on his own. He is advocating hard work and family morals, not dependency and mediocrity.

I loved hearing Dr. Carson speak. He was so inspiring and illuminating! Common sense and a few biblical principles! How wonderful!

As for this from the article, “In his first interview since upstaging the president at the event on Thursday,” I have to take exception. Since few if any of the mainstream have covered anything but the President’s remarks at the NPB, practically no one knows that Carson upstaged Obama there. It’s always seems to be about how wonderful our dear President is. Sigh.
