While scores of law enforcement officers continued to search Friday for a fugitive ex-cop suspected of killing three people, San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon said he is worried about armed Big Bear residents -- whom he calls "hearty" --- taking the law into their own hands.

He already has, and he knows it. He just hasn't stopped moving yet.
The question is who else he takes out before he eats a bullet.

>> St. Trayvon Part 2 will be the meme of the day.
Is it true that LAPD has already separated the White Hispanic officers from the Black Hispanic officers; the former group advised to take the next few days off after surrendering their weapons to Feinstein?
Something like that happening would not surprise me.
Going to be ‘funny’ (as in really sad) to watch the LAPD explode. But they allowed themselves to be co opted by the libs, so now they can reap the whirlwind.
Not so funny for the disarmed people of Cali when the gangs run riot and Reconquista hits full stride. If they are lucky, they will make it to the AZ border with the clothes on their back and ‘virtue’ intact.
It's called suicide-by-cop.
If Obama had an older son....ah nevermind.
>> Not so funny for the disarmed people of Cali...
Agreed. This situation is a testament to the 2nd Amendment, and daylight on the Leftwing roaches attempting to strip the citizens of their Constitutional right to defend themselves and secure their liberty.
I live on the Colorado River/AZ border. There is a running joke here that we’ll blow the bridges when the SHTF. If the S really does HTF, I wouldn’t want to be a Californian wondering if that really is a joke.
The other joke goes that we’ll just drive over the bodies of libs who tried swimming once it’s over.
Just think- If Obama had a son.....
Just think- If Obama had a son.....
I’m more concerned that there are more headshots aimed at the probable hostage than the driver.
Stop! You’re making sense! This is California we’re talking about here; The State that votes to tax itself more!
I think he will continue to try to fulfill his twisted dream. He could eventually commit suicide, but only if he finds himself trapped... he will not want to give the LEOs the satisfaction of taking him to jail or killing him.
Presently, in his mind he has reason to live, revenge..... and that drives him from one hour to the next.
I'm thinking this guy is more social and might be limited by his isolation rather than embracing it.
Fixed.
I'm not going to try to put this guy in a box just yet. He's got tricks.
This ain't TV. Real people are dying.

Exactly!
I have wondered if he had in mind pulling a DB Cooper - just disappearing somewhere forever, maybe even hiding somewhere, somehow, where his body can NEVER be found and then taking the big sleep.
I think your analysis is pretty close.
One of the things about psychotics is that they act rationally within the context of their psychosis. I think he’ll realize that his desire for fame and “justice” has evolved into a need to hide out and have no impact on the “story” he wants to write. I don’t think that’ll be acceptable to him, so if he’s still alive I expect to hear something from him by the end of the weekend.
To the 50, and the manpad, I’d add the “training in police tactics” to the factors that don’t really figure to be involved here. The vast majority of tactics have just involved from experience and they’ve been adopted because they work. Whether you know they’re going to (for example) surround you and wait you out doesn’t really give you any advantage. Knowledge of the system from an operational standpoint may provide some utility in target selection, but that’s about it.
As usual, YMMV. Nobody knows nothing ‘til they know something. The guy could be face down in a snow drift, or sipping umbrella drinks in Ensenada by now.
And then if he disappears in a remote area as in dead, the LAPD would drive themselves crazy wondering if he committed certain murders from here on out.
I think he has made preps & plans . He also has training in Escape & Evasion from time in the service. He will probably have at least one scanner type radio to be able to gather intel about were the cops are & how they are coordinating the search if he is even still in the area.
His pick-up is a burned out hulk but what about an Enduro type motorcycle? You can go either off road or ride down the street with them ,small , fairly easy to hide , decent range on a full tank of fuel and the cops aren’t looking for one .
