BOSTON (AP) Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has declared a state of emergency for blizzard that could bring near 3 feet of snow.
Patrick signed an executive order banning all vehicles from roadways starting at 4 p.m. today. Ban applies to all roadways, including highways and secondary roads. Any one caught driving after 4 p.m. faces up to one year in jail and $500 fine.

Wow. This sounds like dictatorship, plain and simple.
All I know is if this jack-wagon resides in MA after his stint at the Governorship is over with, he will be unable to safely walk the streets there.
And rightly so.
“I think it is all about ratings, to get people to watch local news and weather stations...”
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
We haved a winner!
You nailed it.
“Drive in the snow...1 year in jail.
Steal $1,200,000,000.00 from MF Global...nothing”
Friends and contributors get a lifetime “Get Out Of Jail” card. Corzine probably could even drive in the snow and not go to jail!
Just out of spite, I hope Boston is buried until July and it starts snowing again in September! I told my leftie work colleague that this big snowstorm was obvious evidence of global warming (I was joking) but he completely agreed. Of course, the prick drives a big SUV and pukes CO big time - but he cares for the planet so I guess it is ok.
He sounds like a typical liberal, no scientific understanding and a complete hypocrite.
I saw Deval on Weather Channel.
He’s got a really cool MEMA vest......
“I dont see any exemptions for private snow plows.’
Wow! You are right- if they enforce this, only government trucks or the ones “under contract” to civic authorities can plow.
I used to use a four leaf spring, 2 solid axle 4x4 Suburban (high ground clearance) with 31” snow tires to commute to work. Some days I was nearly the only one there (getting off the clogged freeway and going down unplowed two lane roads was much faster - and way more fun).
Yes, but if the driving ban saves JUST ONE LIFE, it is definitely worth the cost.
What if a plow driver wants a coffee? Will they let those pick-me-up spots stay open?
So, what if EVERYONE defied the King’s Order? Would they start building new Jails after the Snow melted?
If I lived there, I would back my Car in and out of the Driveway into the Street. Criminal, Serf, Criminal, Serf...
It would be just like loading 8 Cartridges into a 10 round Magazine in New York and taking one out and putting it back in. Criminal, Serf, Criminal Serf...
For a brief moment I thought this was another John Semmens satire Posting.
Pity the guy whose Wife decides to send him on a Tampon run.
A terrible choice, PMS or the Police.
