SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) Weeks after New York enacted the nation's toughest gun laws, California lawmakers said Thursday they want their state to do even more in response to recent mass shootings, particularly the Connecticut school massacre.
Democrats who control the state Legislature revealed 10 proposals that they said would make California the most restrictive state for possessing firearms.

In my prayers tonight, I will Thank God I do not live in California.
Or New York.
“In my prayers tonight, I will Thank God I do not live in California.”
It’s only a matter of time until this stuff gets to where you live too.
Liberals playing “I can name that tone in 3 notes...”
Well they have their own murdering (ex)cops making the demands as well..
10,000 cops are out looking for one smart armed ex-cop, I cannot imagine the scenario should they be given orders to go after even a small token number of 10,000 2A supporters all armed and equally trained as in police, sheriffs or veterans.
I will be a total FUBAR, anybody anywhere getting shot if they are even suspected minimally.
I’m sure everyone is taking notes from this guy. He may be off but his tactics seem to be working.
This well trained person is the worst possible threat possible, because this erodes the supremacy of the militarized police forces.
Between the Left Coast and the Wrong Coast, there is, spang in the middle of Fly-Over country, that paradigm of gun control, Chicago.
And gun control works so well in Chicago in keeping down the homicide rate.
Apparently certain questions are not supposed to be asked.
Sorry, meant IT will be FUBAR, not I, was up late last night playing Bingo, won myself $500, just what I need to pay bills with.
CA’s. tough gun laws didn’t stop the leftist, ex-cop, wacko who is currently terrorizing the state of CA. Prayers for the decent citizens in CA. who will be unable to defend themselves against the scumbag.
Not likely, I don't think. Folks in red states tend to elect leaders that are mostly sane, decent people, unlike the commie freaks that run most of the blue states. So, at least at the state level, you won't see these ridiculous gun laws spread too far. In fact, many red states have improved their gun laws, removing restrictions, going shall-issue CCW, etc.
I live in CA, BTW. The lies, propaganda and hyperbole at this "gun violence press conference" thing was so thick you could cut it with a knife (probably soon to be banned also).
“In California, the only people who should have guns are renegade cops who want to kill other cops in their corrupt police department, and their families; and the other cops who want to kill the renegade cops first!”
— California gun control logic
“Stop right where you are! You know the score, pal. You’re not cop, you’re little people!” — Captain Harry Bryant, Rep-Detect department, LAPD, in the year 2019, from the movie Blade Runner.
Another fiscally irresponsible state falling in line with the Obama led Democratic Congress. Could there be a federal bailout in their future for doing so? First, NY and CA lead the charge in weapons bans. Then the Supreme Court again allows the (anti) Commerce Clause to spread it across the nation. As a result, irresponsible states get a federal bailout funded by those of us who lost our rights. There is no way this should be allowed to happen and, if it does, the United States will be pushed to the brink of another Civil War.
Kali is still reeling from the voters turning down Proposition 15 in 1982 which would have forced people to register their handguns and ban new ones in the state.
They have been trying to find a way around that vote ever since.
I just read his manifesto. He is not going after civilians. He is targeting crooked cops.
It will be interesting to see if there are any who come forward to corroborate his charges.
Half the comments I see around the net are somewhat sympathetic. Mostly from the left.
He killed two civilians last weekend.
Cops are civilians.
Only compared to the military.
