When a person amasses too much power, they often believe they are indestructible.
What Karl Rove and company did last week in the New York Times, claiming that their new “Conservative Victory Project” would cure the ills of a disappointing campaign cycle, is laughable. The so-called “Conservative Victory Project” is nothing more than an attempt by establishment Republicans to cull the conservative movement. Why does Rove think he has a monopoly on wanting to win?
At least Karl Rove and company are finally out front with their disdain for the conservative movement, and I am thankful for it. The battle lines are finally drawn, and conservatives should look at the New York Times article as our Lexington and Concord. This battle will be a long, hard slog against the establishment. Just this week, a Rove henchman attacked conservative leader Brent Bozell. But we will prevail, because we actually believe in core principles and a cause greater than our egos and money.
Karl Rove and his cabal would sell out on any issue if it means more power in the short-term, for they don’t stand for anything. Let’s just look at Rove’s record of accomplishments for Big Government causes. Rove supported the fiscally crippling expansion of Medicare, the anti-free speech McCain-Feingold campaign finance act, and the plan to reward illegal behavior when it comes to immigration reform. Under Rove’s watch, federal spending was out of control. Rove is no conservative; his decisions are made free of principle, with the deciding factor always being how he and the failing establishment try to cling to power.
America is in trouble. Supporting candidates who are willing to come to Washington to increase our national debt will only hasten our decline.

Jeb Bush cannot beat Hillary in 2016. The Democrats will way outspend him, the press will destroy him, and conservatives will stay at home. Women will come out in droves to put a female in the highest office. The Hispanic community will support Democrats thanks to the amnesty that will be in place by then.
Jeb is unlikely to win against any Democrat. He is a moderate globalist, not a committed conservative. He will not inspire the conservative base. If Biden gets the nomination, he will have more money to spend plus 100% of the press and the Obama grassroots organization. Jeb will move left in the general election and like Romney give a cold shoulder to the Tea Party.
How do they think they’re gonna win if they lose conservatives? I guess all of the Mexicans will vote repub in gratefulness for being allowed to stay....yeah, right. Fact is, there is no Republican party if they lose us, and I for one am gone. I will no longer mark the R box assuming that they are the lesser of evils - if a candidate isn’t conservative and Christian he or she will not get my vote.
They are only trying to protect themselves. I found this video footage while looking for something else today- and it made me think of Rove making a plan to keep his government buddies and poker groups safe- while the rest of us perish at the hands of a corrupt government.

I personally doubt that there are still conservatives in the GOP. Where would they come from?
We’ve had a generation of liberal thinking by now — many of today’s politicians may pretend that they are conservative but they really don’t understand conservative principles.
Besides, the job of becoming a congresscritter is so lucrative that candidates will promise ANYTHING in order to be elected.

Re. Rove - it’s not just the money, it’s the power. He misses being a king maker (Bush). He wants to be the kingmaker for the next political generation. Problem is, he doesn’t have good instints about who we need to lead us out of this mess.
I believe all “pacs” are nothing but slush funds. Rove saw his gravy train coming to an end after the 2012 campaign. He KNEW it was fraud that got _______ (I don’t like typing his name) re-elected but he wouldn’t say it. A few days later he was talking about the brilliant campaign ______ had run because he knew if he got fired from Fox his career would be hurt substantially. So, he sucks up and gets re-hired by Fox and starts another slush fund.

Romney would have been far better than Obama and those who didn’t vote for Romney enabled Obama, so they should have no complaints through 2016 IMO.
Goes back farther .... there has always been an inner ring of money guys and corruptocrats at the core of the GOP. Tom Dewey, famously corrupt NY governor, is an example; also, the Whiskey Ring and the organizers of the Credit Mobilier in the 1860's, Albert Fall and his Teapot Dome associates and co-conspirators in the 1920's.
Mugwumps in the 1880's and Bull Moosers in 1912 who fell out with the bag men and plutocrats have always been Main Street Republicans frozen out by the corruptocrats and access capitalists in the inner ring. That is the divide, and it has proven stable so far. We have a very difficult task, to root those people out, prosecute them, and send them to prison to get them out of political life.
The “corporate welfare” practitioners would be the current manifestation of that category?

I will only vote for conservatives, either in a GOP primary or for a third party if the GOP candidate is a RINO.
Conservatives need a two prong strategy that involves a conservative candidate for the Republican primary and another third party conservative candidate ready to run if the RINO wins.
