The Senate Armed Services Committee will not hold a vote Thursday on the confirmation of secretary of defense nominee Chuck Hagel, according to reports.
Hagel vote wont be tomorrow in Armed Services, Politicos Manu Raju tweeted Wednesday afternoon. Levin: The committees review of the nomination is not yet complete. Foreign Policys Josh Rogin also confirmed the delay.
Hagels murky financial entanglements are a major concern in the delay, according to sources close to the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC). Also of concern is a committee investigation into how Hagel and his Senate office handled a 2007 sexual harassment allegation made by a former staff member.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) distributed a letter to his Republican colleagues calling on SASC Chairman Carl Levin (D., Mich.) to delay a committee vote until Hagel responds to the numerous questions about his financial entanglements, according to multiple Senate sources.
The letter has garnered at least two dozen signatures thus far, the sources said.

Hagel told the committee he was unable to provide further information about possible foreign funding sources for the organizations and corporations he is affiliated with.

Hagels refusal to provide further information about who funds the organizations and companies he is affiliated with could lead some GOP senators to consider holding up his nomination until the issue is resolved, sources close to the committee told the Free Beacon.

Good, keep the POS out. One of our NE senators is probably going to vote for him because he is from Nebraska. Piss poor reason to vote for someone who was never a real republican.
They finally figured out he’s too stoopid?
No... They finally figured out Obama is too stupid or incompetent to properly vet his nominee....
DOD is a wellspring of money flowing to states...the head of it needs to be beholden to the guys who voted him in .... Not some foreign entity he is corrupted by....
I am sure if he will not come clean on his foreign benefactors.... There probably a real good reason he won't and that alone should derail his nomination...
THE FOREIGNER once again shows he really knows how to pickem. I have never seen a more radical anti american group of commies selected for service of this country in my entire life. And the democratic drones just go along with it as if this is good for the country. You can see why Hitler was so easily able to take over a country that has a large population of complete NITWITS.
the shake downs, payoffs, threats and intimidation is commencing
All Right CRUZ!
I’ll bet anything Hagel is on the payroll of Saudi.
Friggin’ Al Qaeda plant, just like his 0bummerness.
Vote him out. Period. No more of this delaying. Get Obama used to being defied.
They’ll vote late Friday so the outrage will die down over the weekend.
McCarthy Capital is partly owned by the World-Herald, one of Nebraska’s liberal papers. McCarthy Capital owns Election Systems & Software, and their voting machines have been found to flip votes.

Obama DOES know how to pick ‘em.
Cruz is a big monkey wrench disrupting the Senate club. Good. It’s no wonder why Hagel was a fixture on the network Sunday morning talking head shows. Their kind of idiot.
The fact that Obama’s website disabled the credit card verification process and the 2012 website donations were found to be mostly from foreign sources makes it doubly concerning that Hagel’s company which produces a large portion of the country’s voting machines and vote tabulation programming will not reveal any foreign influence. Especially since there were voting anomalies in key areas which were critical to the total outcome of the 2012 election.
Did Soros’ communist-Islamist alliance offer Hagel the SecDef position in return for stealing the election? With the endorsement of Bob Kerry over Deb Fischer geared toward giving the cover of Obama liking Hagel because of his “crossing the aisle”?
I think what transpired right before Hagel endorsed Kerry should be VERY closely examined.
And we have GOT to require voting systems to have transparent accountability and integrity, so that the system itself would have a “black box” showing any tampering, “adjustments”, etc - that must be audited by experts from different political persuasions. Or something like that. I don’t know how the details would have to work, but we need to do SOMETHING.
And of course, it should go without saying that if Hagel should be examined for foreign influence - particularly because of his lack of transparency - then so should Obama. Especially since the HI state registrar has confirmed that Obama’s HI BC is not legally valid and the White House image is a forgery. What little “transparency” Obama has claimed was a forgery to hide that he has no legally-established birth facts based on a HI birth certificate. If he has been using a birth certificate his whole life long, it has been one from somewhere BESIDES Hawaii.
They’re going to go after Ted Cruz big time. Let’s be ready.
Why didn't Republicans put the same effort into trying to block the appointment of Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, John Kerry, and for that matter Obama's Supreme Court nominations? They seem far worse than Hagel could ever be, yet I don't remember anyone in the GOP threatening to fillibuster their appointments.
Hagel ping
No... They finally figured out Obama is too stupid or incompetent to properly vet his nominee....
I still think this was a plan to set up the Republicans. Hagel is a Republican and if turned down, Obama can put in someone he really wants and say well I tried bipartisanship and didn’t work so I will select such and such in return.
Where was all this opposition to the Kagel and Sotomayor? These NY NE Harvard libs can do much more damage to the USA in their lifetime appointment than 3.5 years of Hagel. We could do much worse than Hagel, believe me.. We are overrepresented by NYers and other NE libs.
Two words. “Red Cruz”
