NY TIMES ^

A Justice Department white paper, obtained by NBC News, states that it is lawful to kill a United States citizen if an informed, high-level government official decides that the target is a ranking Al Qaeda figure who poses an imminent threat of violent attack against the United States.
What standards must be met for the government to assassinate an American citizen? And does this deprive U.S. citizens of their constitutionally protected due process rights?

“...it is lawful to kill a United States citizen if an informed, high-level government official decides that the target is a ranking Al Qaeda figure”.
...”high-level”? “informed”? “official”? According to whom? In what context? What amendment of the constitution allows this? They don’t get any more “high-level” than the president and HE’S not allowed to do this!

How long will it be before some government hack decides to off an annoying fellow American by declaring that poor soul an enemy of the state? My sense is soon , at the rate our monarchy is taking power.

Gutless Old Party members and SCOTUS judges had better check the assassination list and see if their names appear on it.

Evidently, the NY Times rewriting history again leaves out the fact that the US government has already murdered many of its own, e.g. WACO, Ruby Ridge, etc. What more proof of this out of control government does the NY Times need? I guess, if you have your head so far up the ass of this socialist fascist in support of his communist policies, one cannot see the truth, instead relies upon what is fed to the NY times and approved for release to the moochers in this Nation by this communist administration!

So, imagine that Bush is still President. The Times would be screaming for his head. And hordes of freepers would be cheering him on.

It’s coming. Remember that Bill Ayres once promised he’d do his best to kill 25 million conservatives to make way for his communist Utopia. And Obozo is one of his best friends.

Sometimes a President has to do what he has to do. Bush did what he had to do but was beat up for it by the Times, the media(even, at times Fox)and the left in general. I don’t hear any noise from them on this issue. Obama and any democrat get a pass. Republicans get kicked.

It is o.k. for the President to order the assassination of U.S. citizens, just whatever you do don’t water board terrorists for information.

Stunning isn’t it? A few soldiers put some underwear on an Islamists head and we heard about it for months.

My point is the double standard of the left and the media. They rationalize and justify Barry but want W charged as a war criminal.

In the end analysis, the President is not above the law, he is the law, the Constitution, the congress and the courts be dammed.
