Sorry I missed this thread. I'm usually right in the middle of threads like this as I argue against the many MANY liberals like you here at FR.

But - as usual - the facts speak for themselves. Just look at the headline:

Dems move to change federal pot laws

As always... It is the liberal leftist democraps who are pushing this agenda. As we know - there are NO CREDIBLE conservatives who argue for relaxing drug laws either at the state or federal level.

He’s keeping a count of the pro-democrat move.

Remember, this is a DEMOCRAT move. And the anti-democrat party ones are getting bashed on this thread.

Not really. I don't know any liberty-loving supporter of limited government who still supports the failed Drug War in it's current state.

You must hang out with a lot of GOP establishment types; they're really the only ones still hanging onto outdated big government schemes like marijuana prohibition:

The measures have little chance of passing, said Kevin Sabet, a former [Bush 43] White House drug policy adviser. Sabet recently joined former Rhode Island Rep. Patrick Kennedy and former President George W. Bush speechwriter David Frum in forming a group called Project SAM — for “smart approaches to marijuana” — to counter the growing legalization movement. Sabet noted that previous federal legalization measures have always failed.

It's more like the GOP establishment and the old money Democrats are teaming up to push back against legalization. The only Republicans who are still gung-ho anti-pot are guys like Frum who still supports bans on "assault weapons" and "high capacity magazines".

Granted, legalization is supported by both sides, but for totally different reasons (leftists want the tax revenue, conservatives want to decrease FedGov police power that accompanies the Drug War).

Still, there's fewer and fewer people out there who still believe that FedGov prohibition of a relatively harmless plant and limited government are part of the same philosophy.

Pot legalization is one of those rare issues like SOPA where you're likely to have some crossover. But don't pretend like there's any sort of mystery as to where a true "limited government" supporter should stand.

As you know, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-CA, lifetime American Conservative Union rating 95%, endorsed the Regulate Marijuana Like Wine Act (http://blogs.ocweekly.com/navelgazing/2011/09/dana_rohrabacher_us_congressma.php).
