He's already being treated like the 2016 GOP presidential front-runner, and now there is another reason Republicans are excitedly buzzing about Florida Sen. Marco Rubio: He alone would reverse the party's slide among Hispanic voters.
A new nationwide poll from JZ Analytics found that Rubio would get 48 percent of the Hispanic vote, about twice what Mitt Romney won in 2012. Republican strategist told Secrets that a win among Latino voters that big would assure Rubio the presidency, since he would also likely keep the regular GOP base.
"If he does that good, then he's the next president," said a senior GOP official. "It makes him The Man, I guess," added the official.
The poll, provided to Secrets, did not indicate why Hispanics like Rubio, other than his story growing up in Florida as a child of Cuban parents is well known. He has also joined the bipartisan Senate effort to reform immigration.

MSM again selecting our nominee for us. The Hispanic vote is not that large yet. And if Hillary runs, Rubio will not get anywhere near 48% of the Hispanic vote.
The precedent is now set. One just doesn’t have to be NBC to be president and I guess we should all give up on the constitution. It just doesn’t matter anymore anyhow.
No, they are NOT.
No "social conservative" could vote for the sworn enemy of social conservatism that Obama is. Ever.
And admixture of "conservatisms" is no conservatism at all.
I won’t vote for him. Not into getting more GOP to vote by enlarging the tent at the expense of conservative ideals.

Rubio (or any Republican) would win getting 40% of Hispanics.
Pending this immigration study, Rubio would be my pick for 2016. He is Reaganesque in his speaking, and has been a solid legislator for conservatives (not perfect, but solid). He’s a Jim DeMint guy. I recently voted with Rand Paul on stopping the export of military equipment to Egypt. If he navigates a reasonable result on immigration, I think he’ll prove to be a worthy candidate. I’ve said for awhile, this immigration will make or break Rubio’s presidential aspirations. His position is reasonable; the question is whether legislation reflect his ideas or is a sellout to the left to allow amnesty after the fact.
RE: I wont vote for him.
So, in a match between Rubio and Hillary, you’d stay in the sidelines?
Oh, why not!! Afterall, the die hard GOP has been pounding us for decades that all that matters is WINNING!!!! To hell with the country!
We won with George Bush.....FAT lot of good that did! WE could have given him his amnesty in 2004 and by now we’d need another one! Idiots! Doing some boneheaded agenda doesn’t work, so they decide to do it some more!
As more is learned about Rubio, I predict he will experience the same absence of enthusiasm from the conservative base that sealed Romney’s fate (i.e., Rubio isn’t a conservative).
Then I guess you don’t need conservative white folks’ vote.
Remember that when you party hacks cry in your coffee that you lost another one.
Good luch pandering to grab the non-existent support from newly registered illegal, feminazi, and homo voters. How’s that ‘big tent’ working out for ya?

Good post!
RE: Rubio isnt a conservative
OK, here are some issues -— Immigration, the budget, the military and defense, abortion, gay marriage, debt, energy, taxes, education, foreign policy, health care, taxes, second amendment.
On which issue is he not conservative and why?
Pandering to an ethnic community is not the answer despite what this ‘author’ says.
If the Constitution/Bill of Rights cannot be made real and visceral to the “ethnic” communities, and the conservatives cannot run a candidate that measures up to the Constitution/Bill of Rights, then we are absolutely doomed to continue on this ruinous path toward totalitarian social democracy.....
Not that any politician is to be trusted

Your mileage may vary,
Another group that votes based only on color of skin.
No more lilly white guys from either party it seems.
Its like watching starving people stranded on a deserted island sending away boats because they don't like the deck chairs.
Funny how it works isn’t it.
Blacks won’t vote for a black republican but we’re supposed to believe hispanics will line up to vote for a hispanic republican.
Unless they have found a method to poll dead and nonexistent voters, I'm not buying any of it.
Should Rubio actually be the GOP candidate, I eagerly await the MSM reports claiming that voting for someone because of their ethnicity would be “wrong”.
Of course, I’m assuming that the MSM will actually exist three years from now.
