This is not the first time WWP has done something like this. See: Wounded Warrior Project faces fallout after snubbing ‘Gun Talk’

Doesn’t Glenn Beck endorse the WWP?

This is very disappointing to me since this was one of the few charities I was still giving to.

I've never heard of the WWP rejecting any money before.

Isn't this also the Ollie North/Hannity baby ???

Never send money to national organizations that claim to directly help people when there are people in need locally. You know where your money is going when you keep charity close to home and the recipients can put a face on the help they received.

Just my opinion.

“We are second-class citizens now because we are people of faith.”

If it takes some of the sting out of the rejection, they should bear in mind that while they serve God our military most certainly doesn’t - they are not allowed to.

O’Reilly plugs WWP pretty hard, too. Lame reason to turn down money for vets if you ask me.

Very disappointing, if true.

It’s too late to stop this years’ contribution, but I’ll definitely look to something closer to home next year.

I agree with that.

Several years ago I sent a rather sizeable donation to a ‘small’ group advertising that they help wounded military get laptop computers to aid them after their service.

Thereafter, I was placed on their donations list and frequently (2-3 times a month or more) got requests to donate. Some of those ‘mailings’ were expensive to produce and included paid return postage and paid return FEDEX (and I know that isn’t cheap).

I quickly decided that they were using ‘donations’ to send out fancier request packages for more ‘donations’, rather than the money going for the intended purpose. I requested they remove me from their listing. It took several requests before they finally quit sending me ‘mailings’.

Donate locally. There is a higher probability that funds will be used more appropriately.

I surrender. What is the Wounded Warrior Project?

Are these people affiliated with Obama? He despises religious people.

Haven't I heard commercials on the radio advertising these people?

What have I missed?

Just my opinion.

Good opinion. Thus the old saw, "Charity begins at home."

From their website:

“WWP fundraisers cannot be sexual or political in nature and cannot be partnered with alcohol brands.”

Says nothing about religious groups, I think I would save the kneejerk reactions until all the facts are in hand. This is a great organization, would hate to think people would accept an article at face value without more information.

I am SO glad I cut them off. I was sending $25/month plus I sent a few $1000 donations.

What a bunch of lukewarm losers they are.

this organization does some good, but the overall emphasize is very leftist it seems....they refused to have a gun talk show back them and now they are refusing a Christian group....

folks.....stop giving to them.....WWP has become the liberals little pet...its politically correct and that is one thing freepers aren't..politically correct.

I've never heard of the WWP rejecting any money before.

It has happened before. There was a dustup a while ago (maybe two to three months) where WWP turned down a group's fundraising efforts for them. I'm quite sure that it was a gun-related group but I'll have to look for a link to confirm that. (GunTalkRadio vaguely comes to mind.)

Your hearts are in the right place, BUT...

If we want to fix what is wrong, you have to bite the bullet and end ALL charitable contributions (it was VERY difficult to walk past those bell-ringers and not throw in whatever cash I had).

The only way to get Washington & the freeloaders off our backs is to stop making it comfortable to be one them. Let them count on Uncle Barry to provide that special Christmas dinner, toys for the kiddies, those extras that we can no longer afford for our own families, because we are providing for everyone else’s (and being vilified for “having too much”). It’s not very Christ-like, but SCREW’EM.
