Students have come out in support of a teacher who was suspended from her job after she posted half-naked photos of herself on Twitter and joked about teenager being 'jail bait'. Carly McKinney, a math teacher at Overland High School in Aurora, Colorado, was placed on paid administrative leave on Tuesday after admitting to a local TV station that she created the Twitter account with the help of a friend.
Since then a campaign using the hashtag #freecrunkbear has started on Twitter to have her reinstated.
Support: Students have backed Carly McKinney who was suspended from her job after she posted half-naked photos of herself on Twitter Students have also said that they don't think McKinney should be punished for what she pursues in her free time outside of school hours. 'It's a teacher that's only five or six years older than our oldest students,' an Overland High School student named Shaun told 9News. 'So we kind of relate to her on a personal level.'
The account, CarlyCrunkBear (@crunk_bear), which has since been taken down, included explicit photos of the blonde teacher along with multiple posts about smoking marijuana on school grounds. It came to light after 9News was tipped off about the account by a viewer on Monday. McKinney later admitted to the TV station that she was behind the tweets.
One post read: 'Naked. Wet. Stoned,' while another said: 'Watching a drug bust go down in the parking lot. It's funny cuz I have weed in my car in the staff parking lot.'

Sadly in today's culture of extended adolescence, people "never leave high school" well into their 30s. Used to be a distinct difference in maturity and values between a 16-year old and a 23-year old. Today, not so much at all. Today's 20-30-somethings all too often listen to the same music, watch the same movies and TV shows and have the same interests, hobbies and pastimes as many of their teenage counterparts. I think this is why there seem to be so many "naughty teachers" making the news. They may be chronologically adults, but in their heads, they're kids.
I had 12 years of what your math teacher about looked like. Thanks for the flashbacks... lol!
Most students in Houston schools don't even graduate till they're 23 yrs old.

Forget the pictures and the drugs...she should be fired for being too stupid and having no judgement.

I hope when President Obama finally gets his wish to hire however many more gazillion new teachers he thinks we need, he skips over folks like this one...may be brilliant at Math, but a dope(r) when it comes to real life!
If a good role model "saves" just one teen-ager...
I used to think this was cool, now, It is just sad, she is one of many, our nation is done, we have become Sodom and Gomorrah, this teacher has no respect for herself nor her job, the last moral person, please, turn the lights off before God does!
