NBC News president Steve Capus announced today that he is leaving the network.
"It has been a privilege to have spent two decades here, but it is now time to head in a new direction," he wrote in a memo to staff, obtained by POLITICO. "I have informed Pat Fili-Krushel that I will be leaving NBC News in the coming weeks."
"It is impossible to fully express how much I respect the people of NBC News," he wrote. "To call everyone "colleagues" has been a true honor ... but to call so many of you dear friends has been a true gift. Thank you for everything. I could not be prouder of what we have accomplished together."
Capus joined NBC News in 1993 as executive producer of NBC Nightside, NBC News at Sunrise, MSNBC dayside, The News with Brian Williams on MSNBC, and NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw and Brian Williams. In 2005, Jeff Zucker, who would soon become chief executive of NBC, appointed Capus president of NBC News. Rumors of his departure have been circulating since Fili-Krushel was named Chairman of NBCUniversal News Group last year.

What position in the White House is he takng?
Doggie Style........
What's happening...are they doubling down with super-commie reporters or are they getting ready to turn and attack Obama as he is inevitably revealed as a clown.
CNN hiring Jake Tapper makes me think the latter but I really don't know at this point.
The name of the game is ratings.
Ratings equals advertisement revenue.
They ain’t got ‘em.
They gotta get ‘em.
It all boils down to $$$$$.
Capitalism works........
LOL
“It is impossible to fully express how much I respect the people of NBC News,” he wrote,
. . . splitting one last infinitive before splitting for good. (Or for evil.)
“To call everyone “colleagues” has been a true honor ...”
... “because, you know, it’s an honor to call things by the correct name every once in awhile.”
” . . . but to call so many of you dear friends has been a true gift.”
... “From me to you. And, you’re welcome,” he added, as humbly as possible.
“Rumors of his departure have been circulating since Fili-Krushel was named Chairman of NBCUniversal News Group last year.”
... in a fairly crucial Fili-Krushel move.
Breitbart's John Nolte has been hammering this guy for a while, now, on all of the *selective editing* under this guys nose. Good on John and Andrew :)
He’s leaving? Well, don’t let the door hit you in the a** on your way out, Steve.
Rumor has it he will replace Carney. Except that would not be leaving.
