Sure, Chuck Hagel might have been a bumbling, stumbling mess at his confirmation hearing yesterday. But the real story was how awful were the Republicans who questioned him. That was the collective judgment of today's Morning Joe panel.
For example, so contemptuous was Joe Scarborough of Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, that the Morning Joe host announced that he would not even mention him by name. "Clown show" was the panel's operative phrase for the Republican performance. Andrea Mitchell, Mika Brzezinski, Mike Barnicle et al. joined in the Republican roasting.

Yeah it’s called chronic lieatoxicosis.
Ted Cruz scares the mess out of these liberal morons.he tells the truth so now they are going after him..
I have never watched this show nor do I intend to. Why punish myself?
Scarborough’s not the only one. How about this from Brit Hume?
Fox News Brit Hume, criticized Cruzs tactic, tweeting Thursday Ted Cruz is bullying Hagel. He needs to let him finish his answers. Unimpressive round of questioning.

I saw it. Cruz was uber-prepared and brilliant.
2016 calls...
I listened to NPR coverage this morning. For NPR, the Cruz questioning never happened. ;-)
They really are pitiful. And funny.
“He who pays the fiddler picks the tune”
Joe knows who signs his checks.
but the more I read and see of Ted Cruz the more I like the man...we need more of his caliber.
They hate it when that can’t just pull the racist card...
Yup. That's how the left uses Joey Scab and turncoats like him. When the Democrats are having a rough go of it, they turn to media whores like Scarborough to get the "fair conservative" point of view. Of course he sides with the liberals and it is then reported that even reasonable Republicans like Scarborough think the GOP was out of bounds.
I just do not see how we succeed in this environment.
I don't know at this point. The left so dominates the education, media and entertainment establishments that conservatives/Republicans are always stuck swimming against the tide. It's even worse now, the left has managed to turn even the words "Republican" and "conservative" into derogatory terms. Even people that agree with us often wish to avoid being tagged with either label. During the previous election I had occasion to talk to many young people that seemed to be reasonable, traditional type people and they didn't even feel like Republican was an option.
Stockholm Syndrome.
Chokin’ Joe should just cross over.
Heart condition ?
High blood pressure ?
Stroke ?
his compensation is based on how savagely he attacks conservatives.
Bingo
If the media likes our guy or gives him (her) any recognition, then he’s the wrong guy.
That Scarborough won’t look at him tells us he’s irritating something in them.
WHy would we want it any other way?
DId you see the video.
Check it and the one from the day before on gun control.
I don’t know if anyone has responded to your comment about Senator Cruz vis-a-vis John Kerry...if they have, excuse the redundancy.
Senator Cruz was on the committee at the hearings at which Hagel appeared, therefore he was able to question him and bring forward video evidence of his past misdeeds.
In the case of John Kerry, I don’t believe Cruz was on the committee that questioned Kerry, however Cruz was one of only THREE United States Senators to vote AGAINST Kerry when the roll was called.
He has been very critical of Kerry in explaining in interviews why he voted against him.
Kudos to Cruz.
These a-wipes coming out against Cruz is one of the best things that could happen to Cruz.
I am already thinking of him as Presidential material.
Maybe he is simply an unprincipled whore. . . .
