And one of those IN senators left and is now back (Coats). Wonder which way he’ll swing this time.
I remember watching the proceedings on c-span back then and I was nearly physically sick when the useless waste of time passed. And now we have the push on again. Thankfully with the internet and twitter and texting the word gets passed around a whole lot quicker so we can react in almost real time. Every Monday I go to the Ruger site and re-email their link in support of the 2nd amendment. I don’t really care if the pols get tired of it. They’ll keep getting them until this insanity comes to a screeching halt. No registration/background checks beyond what is already there. NONE! Leave my rights alone and I’ll leave you alone. Too many of the idiots in congress still do not understand that the BOR does NOT grant us anything. It is supposed to protect our rights. They need some schoolin’.
Part of his statement is: "As we learn more about the presidents proposals, we must protect Second Amendment rights and ensure the federal government does not punish responsible gun owners. I will not support legislation or executive actions that would affect gun ownership rights for law-abiding citizens, including any assault weapons ban."

” but has not decided whether he would support universal background checks.”
That is what they are really after...this time.
He must be up for re-election in 2014.
Yup, twists with prevailing winds of the day. Apparently, he couldn’t figure that out in 1994.
Sen. Donnelly was just elected in 2012. He’ll run again (if he wants to) in 2018.
“Yeah, I think Sen. Coats is leaning against the idea this time around. Good for him.”
You might want to look at this graphic. Coats is listed in the C/D column.

Senate Rats putting survival over their lib ‘principles’ ping!
Over at Morning Joe: Joe , Mika and Lawrence OD on his show they spent their time PERSONALLY attacking that 2nd amendment babe Gayle Trotter who testified to Senate committee about women who used guns to defend themselves,
Still waiting for them (MSNBC) to turn on their fellow cowardly Rats in the Senate who are putting survival over ‘principle’ by not supporting Feinstein's critical bill to save children's lives :)
Want to play with Dems heads?? : then call Donnelly's office as an angry Dem and call him a coward for jumping ship, LOL
I think Sen. Coats is maturing with experience (especially the experience of watching Sen. Lugar get defeated).
Based on his recent statements, it sounds like he's not supporting the "assault weapons" ban at this time. And I think that's a good thing.
especially the experience of watching Sen. Lugar get defeated
Exactly!!
Let’s hope that they also don’t support an ammunition or “high capacity” magazine ban.
the holy grail & wet dream...
I hate Donnelly with a passion, but I have no doubt in my mind that Dick Lugar would have been happy to help out his “good friend across the aisle” in her zealous quest to ban guns.
IIRC he was willing and ready to get on board the UN handgun treaty.
Dick could very well have put one of these gun laws over the top.
Goodbye and good riddance to the old RINO
hey, if Dems are even worried about voting for background checks you know we got a ‘pant wetter’ here.
Popcorn time !
“especially the experience of watching Sen. Lugar get defeated”
Apparently, Senator Pryor of AR is also against an assault weapons ban. Pryor is up for re-election next year.
Politicians seem to be aware that the people are awake and watching. Good!
Thanks for that. Surprised that Donnelly had a better rating that Coats and I let him know.
Well if enough voters contact Congress, those proposals won't be passed.
