Infamous hoaxster Tawana Brawley — whose outrageous rape lie 25 years ago inflamed racial tensions nationwide — yesterday was finally slapped with a court order to settle a hefty defamation case against her.
“For at least 25 years, she has been living a major lie,” said former Dutchess County prosecutor Steven Pagones, who was falsely accused of raping Brawley in 1987 and finally tracked her down, thanks to The Post.
“To me, this has always been about responsibility and accountability,’’ added the former ADA, who won the $190,000 defamation lawsuit against Brawley, 40, now a nurse in Virginia, more than a decade ago.
At 9 percent interest, that debt, which Brawley never attempted to pay off, now totals $431,492, according to the wage-garnishment papers filed in Virginia’s Surry County Court.

According to Pagones’ lawyer, Garry Bolnick, the single mom’s wages could be docked 10 to 25 percent per paycheck as retribution for her lies.

But I agree, she should put her $431k tab over on Sharpton as well. He has the means to dial up some wealthy blacks and pay the tab. Maybe OJ can sell some memorabilia from his cell in the Nevada State Pen to help out!
Hear, hear. Pagones’ career was ruined by the lies of Twana Brawley, and another man who was falsely accused killed himself. Lives were destroyed by her actions; her refusal to pay the judgment was just one more slap in the face.
Interestingly enough, I live in SE Virginia, about 45 miles from Surry County. I’m waiting to see if the local media in Richmond and Norfolk actually cover the story.
One thing is certain: Reverend Al won’t rush in to bail her out this time—unless she’s got some dirt on the MSNBC host.
It was stupid. But it was also evil. She knew what she was doing, and should pay.
Sharpton should pay, too. And he will. If not on Earth, then in eternity.
Not being a lawyer, I have no idea if judgments can be gotten rid of by declaring bankruptcy. I know some debts can’t be (IRS and taxs) but not sure about these.

She was not 5 years old. She was old enough to know better, for sure. I agree that $harpton shares a lot of blame, but don’t let this woman off the hook.
I never said she wasn’t guilty, only that Sharpton was the most guilty.
There is a God.
Is there some means, short of homicide, to ensure that the face of The Unreverend Sharpton the Charlatan will never again be seen on a TV screen or in a newspaper of general circulation?
A dream, I know.
Take all her money and savings, take her home and all her belongings, take her land, sell her kids, and put her in jail forEVER!
