The office of U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., issued a statement Wednesday denying allegations a Florida doctor who is a friend lined up prostitutes for him.
The FBI Tuesday raided the office Dr. Salomon Melgen, an eye doctor practicing in West Palm Beach, Fla., who is the target of an Internal Revenue Service lien for more than $11 million, The Miami Herald reported. The newspaper said federal investigators were believed to be looking into Melgen's finances as well as the allegations about prostitutes.
"Dr. Melgen has been a friend and political supporter of Senator Menendez for many years," the statement issued by the senator's office said. "Senator Menendez has traveled on Dr. Melgen's plane on three occasions, all of which have been paid for and reported appropriately.
"Any allegations of engaging with prostitutes are manufactured by a politically motivated right-wing blog and are false."
Melgen has been a major contributor to Menendez's and other political campaigns. Menendez has flown to the Dominican Republic at least once on Melgen's private plane.
The Center for Responsive Politics said Melgen has contributed more than $200,000 to mostly Democratic candidates and various political committees since 1990, Roll Call said.
The Daily Caller, a conservative news website, reported just before last year's election Menendez, who is divorced, had had sex with two prostitutes at a resort in the Dominican Republic. The story included interviews with two women who said they were prostitutes.
Menendez won a second full term in the Senate in November with almost 60 percent of the vote.
Recently, reporters received copies of email exchanges between an FBI agent based in Miami and a man using the name Peter Williams, who said some of the prostitutes were minors. Williams refused to meet with the agent face to face, the dossier indicates.
Neither the FBI nor the agent, Regino Chavez, would comment, the Herald said. But the newspaper said sources in the FBI said the email exchange was genuine.
Menendez denied any wrongdoing when questioned by a Daily Caller reporter Monday during a ride on the subway linking the Capitol and Senate office buildings, saying the site had made "fallacious allegations."
All-too-familiar pattern here. I smell guilt. Many of us here know that there is something radically (good word) wrong with the entire Democrat Party which has become the only party for the homosexuals and other deviates, philanderers and other users of whores.
Many politicians, whose personal god isn't God but is Billy Goat Clinton, cannot keep it in there pants, and all of them lie if their lips are moving. To save time they need to lubricate their zippers with WD-40.
In my 50 years on the planet, I have found that when someone blames another person, group, etc rather than come out & say "that's a lie, I never did that", it's almost certainly true.
The first reaction of an innocent person is to say "I didn't do it!"
> Many politicians, whose personal god isn’t God but is Billy Goat Clinton, cannot keep it in there pants, and all of them lie if their lips are moving. To save time they need to lubricate their zippers with WD
LOL that last line made me spew my coffee...line of the day. I may borrow that....lol
Something isn’t quite right with the finances of Menendez. He just gave $60,000 to the Florida ‘doctor’, but his total net worth is reported as $429,502 as of 2010.
The IRS needs to investigate this lying philanderer to see what off-shore bank accounts might be excluded from this.
How can he afford to part with $60K?
Bobby likes `em young and sweet, untouched if possible.
How young Bobby, 13 , 12 ?
How do you expect someone to get out from under an $11 million tax lien if they don’t contribute heavily to pols?
I want to know if menendez is a recipient of some of the funds the prostitute *ring* brings in.
Is Menendez pumping up his credentials among Democrat voters for a run at the presidency in ‘16?
When I the GOP goin to file an ethics complaint and insist he resign his seat? This should be the Repubkicans response on every Sunday morning program. I would go so far as to get McConnel to hold a press conference today.
First, in the first 4 paragraphs of the story, they stated that Menendez "forcefully denied" the allegataions at least three times. Second, they made it a point to say that the accusations and this story are only coming from "right-wing blogs" and conservative radio hosts.
Hmmm, maybe that's because the MSM has steadfastly refused to cover the story themselves? I can only imagine what would be going on right now if Menendez were a Republican. Instead, since he is a democrap, he gets full protective coverage from the MSM and rags like the NJ Star Ledger.
So tired of it. I cancelled my subscription to the Star Ledger back in the mid-90's, after reading one of their articles on the budget debate that was going on in Congress at the time. I had been watching that debate on C-Span, so for the first time in my life, I saw for myself how completely distorted and biased the so-called "journalism" in that paper really was. It has not improved over the years, from what I can see.
The certainly is qualified to be the RAT head of the “Foreign Relations” Committee in the Senate.
Don't hold your breath. Cruz or Imhofe maybe, but McConnel?....nah...
Time to bring in Chris Hansen.
BTW, on a side note, WD40 is not a lubricant...Using it as such will wreck your stuff...Upon close inspection, the word lubricant, is not found anywhere on the can....
Anyone capable of critical thought no longer watches that garbage.. They should call them, "Sunday morning politic shows".
I would stand up an cheer if this should happen. Sadly, not gonna hold my breath.
A typical Democrat non-denial denial.
He has not been accused of "engaging" with the prostitutes.
It's hard to see the Rat Senate Majority Leader ordering a "punishment" for Bobby that's *nearly* as strict as the one experienced by Studds.
