Freeper TheConservator: Mother of VA Tech shooting survivor shouldn’t be part of gun control debate.

And she has veto power somehow? The NRA has been the leader in gun safety since McArthur’s father was a cadet corporal.

leftists do not believe in debate or discussion, they do not believe in freedom of opinion or thought or association either.

”I don’t see reports from them, I don’t see studies from them, I don’t see activities from them, I don’t see policies from them that contribute to the public safety debate.”

I guess it's because she's never bothered looking for any of these. Simply put, the NRA is the #1 gun safety and training group in the USA, they sponsor the award winning "Eddie the Eagle" gun safety programs for children, and they train and certify range safety officers, and put on law enforcement training seminars all over the country.

My guess is she gets all her information on the NRA from the NY Slimes and MSNBC.

“The NRA should not even be at the table,” she said.

Lady, you are hysterical. So it is you who needs to be ignored.

"...experts in law enforcement."

Like the BATFE? Pwners of F&F, Waco and Ruby Ridge (among other "actions" like their latest escapades in Milwaukee)

“Courage is facing down the barrel of a gun, and my daughter did that...”

Seriously? She makes it sound like her daughter confronted the gunner. Maybe so, but without a gun or other weapon and a decent chance to stop the gunner, that sounds more foolish than courageous. There’s nothing courageous about getting shot down while trying to hide or flee.

Also, why is a victim’s mother suddenly qualified to set policy for an entire nation of 300+ million people. Are we going to survey all of parents and make our decision based that? What if I find one of the parents not only wants the NRA to teach classes in the schools but thinks all teachers should be armed? Should we do that? Ridiculous!

We realize you are trying to target criminals. But though the laws keep changing somehow the black market stays black. All you do with idiotic closings of “loopholes” is make it harder for non-criminals to get guns. That’s a fact, despite what it is you have in mind to do.

yes, life is so much better when you don’t have to listen to arguments from people who disagree with you. Just ask Obama.

The NRA shouldn’t be part of the gun debate?

Okay...

Planned parenthood shouldnot be part of the abortion debate...
The ACLU should not be part of the relgion debate...
The NEA should not be part of the education debate...
PETA should not be part of the animal rights debate...
Doctors should not be part of the assisted suicide debate...
The NAACP should not be part of the race debate...
The NLRB should not be part of the employment rights debate...
The NFL should not be part of the TBI debate...
The FAA should not be part of the aviation safety debate...

Withe complete respect for her loss, she is being a useful idiot on her emotion! Shame on the people prompting her to do this.

Since the NRA represents many of the millions of gun owners in America and has done more to promote safe usage of guns then the Government has, this is a stupid statement on her part.

I find it very, very telling that the commentary is always ‘you’re targeting law abiding citizens’,” she said. “No, we’re not targeting law abiding citizens, we’re targeting criminals, dangerous individuals, felons, domestic abusers, terrorists

Sure lady. Terrosits go to the local Gander Mountain or Cabelas and buy their weapons and submit to a background check........
I am sorry for your loss but do not allow your grief to make you stupid...........

Morons like this mother of a VA Tech victim have nothing to contribute but their irrational fear. Fear and emotion have no place here, but the MSM keeps stoking the fire. Grrrr.

”I don’t see reports from them, I don’t see studies from them, [the NRA] I don’t see activities from them, I don’t see policies from them that contribute to the public safety debate.”

Then you’re willfully blind, because the NRA has produced numerous studies over the years as to gun safety, as have many other organizations. And, let’s just suppose the NRA handed you a nicely bound volume of their studies. Here, I will outghoul you. You’d pour red paint on it as a means of protesting its very existence.

Sorry for your loss mrs. Haas but, you can’t get where you want by shutting up, shouting down or making 50% of America non particpants in the discussions to stem violence.

You need our input. We have ideas, strategies and are willing partners in the effort to mitigate violence of all types.
