Rush Limbaugh said Monday that it’s up to him and Fox News to stop amnesty for undocumented immigrants.
“I mean, thanks to Obama you have amnesty unless you get convicted of a major felony. So I don’t know that there’s any stopping this. It’s up to me and Fox News, and I don’t think Fox News is that invested in this. I don’t think there’s any Republican opposition to this of any majority consequence or size,” the conservative commentator said on his radio program, according to a show transcript.
He continued: “We’ll have to wait and see and find out. But this is one of those, just keep plugging away, plugging away, plugging away until you finally beat down the opposition.”
Earlier Monday, lawmakers in the Senate — including Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) — announced a bipartisan immigration plan that would overhaul the current system.
Limbaugh said that Republicans’ reaction to immigration is much like their reaction to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, McCain’s 2008 running mate, in that they abandoned their principles after being knocked by the media.

Unfortunately true. But even worse, the same tribe of sycophants on conservative forums still demands devotion to a failed party. They will hit this thread and others like it as soon as their talking points are issued.
Rubio is on the show with Rush Tuesday 1/29. Time is supposed to be top of the second hour.

Did Politico or any of the commenters here listen to Rush today? How about, does anyone at Politico ever listen to Rush. I did listen to Rush today. It was obvious that he was being sarcastic. The Politico people are trying to make a racist out of him where there is no racism. Rush was making a point that there is little oppostion to immigration reform and that the MSM, which includes Politico, is the group that is representing that Rush and Fox are the leaders of the oppostion. Rush is saying that the MSM people drag him into everything even when he is keeping a low profile. The MSM, which is a significant mouthpiece for Obama, does this to whip up the low information voter crowd.
In years of listening to Rush I have never heard racism. Rather than identity politics, which plays into the hands of demogogues, Rush is all about self improvement and individual merit. Color, gender, race, etc... have nothing to do with anything in Rush’s world. Don’t be fooled by Politico and the MSM.
They’re not going to fight amnesty, they’re pushing it.

Listening to Rubio on FOX’s Hannity right now pushing amnesty like there’s no tomorrow.
I never was a Hannity fan. He was always my least favorite to listen to, but since he is on when I drive home from work, I thought listening to him is better than nothing. I really believe that I was wrong with this thought. I think he is nothing more than a mouthpiece or parrot without an original thought in his head, and all his show prep involves him listening to Rush Limbaugh’s show among others.
I think he has a good heart, but I don’t think he is a friend of ours.
Now that FOX has hired Kuchinich and Palin and Beck left. I am beginning to wonder if FOX’s sole job in media world is to create the “image” of another perspective. However, they will never really ask or challenge the way the media once did. Especially after 2011 when obama announce he was going to have a “War on FOX”. That went away and now their network seems to be touting a lot of his agenda, though not nearly as much as CNN or MSNBC.

While Fox was only interviewing Amnesty Liberals like Karl Rove....CNN actually had people on from FAIR and even....yes...Tom Tancredo. CNN actually was quite respectable with their no-Amnesty guests
People need to realize Rupert Murdoch is a Liberal. He got his big break in Australia hooking up with the Labour Party and its then leader, Gough Whitlam, the Father of Australian Socialized Medicine

However... I'm glad Rubio is pulling his own covers on this as it seemed to me that Rush might be being taken in by Marco. If it's true that Marco will be on with Rush tomorrow, I'm gonna listen with intense interest!!!
