American Idol is at the centre of a racism row after nine black former contestants claimed that they were all forced off the show as part of a racist plan to boost ratings.
The singers, from various seasons, are preparing to take legal action against the hit talent show which they say "permanently and severely impaired" their personal and professional lives.

When black and you don’t get “affirmative actioned”....the last refuge for incompetence or being untalented is “racism.”
Everyone deserves to win and being a celebrity is an entitlement.

Idol clearly jumped the shark a few years back but the corpse arose as a zombie.
Putting token blacks without talent in front of the cameras is politically-correct (such as the one we have in the White Hut).
Performing in a job you have no qualifications or talent for is what Racism lawsuits are all about......
If their lawsuit succeeds perhaps I should go try out for the Yankees....Fail Miserably due to having little athletic talent and sue! LOL.... I deserve to have a $100 Million dollar contract and play Baseball....

Actually, reading the article, it seems like they all had some measure of talent, but were dismissed between auditions and final selection because of their criminal records.

Considering the lack of talent of some of the “winners”, they might have a case.
And how does she feel about that? Has Sue contacted a lawyer yet? Everyone is entitled to a black boyfriend.
I’d like to have Nicki Minaj in my duck boat in October. she could just talk constantly and the mallards would come in large flocks, Her voice is much like the noise that ducks make while feeding.

Somehow I think people who rely on AutoTune, shouldn’t be judging other singers....but hey, that’s just me.
Last season they had a young black contestant named Joshua who they pushed and pushed...told him he was the best singer of the past 50 years, gave him a standing ovation every time he sang, and he came in third. So far this season, they’re still in the audition phase, but the judges are already fawning over the black contestants, giving them standing ovations, practically declaring them the winners already. American Idol really, really, REALLY wants a black contestant to win, but those pesky ol’ viewers have a nasty habit of voting for whoever they want, not who the judges tell them to vote for! If not enough blacks are winning, they need to blame it on the voters, not American Idol.
