Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer, the head of the Department of Justices Criminal Division who played a critical role in lying to Congress about Operation Fast and Furious, plans to resign soon, the Washington Post reports, citing anonymous sources.
It is not clear when Breuer intends to leave his post, nor what he plans to do once he departs, but it is certain that the prosecutors days in office are winding down, according to people who were not authorized to speak publicly about the matter, the Post wrote.
When asked for a comment on the Posts report, and to verify its accuracy, DOJ spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler wouldnt confirm or deny the reports veracity. She did, however, tell Breitbart News the obviousthat, at this time, Lanny Breuer hasnt resigned."
Breuer is the last one of the three highest-ranking Department of Justice officials heavily criticized in the Inspector General investigation into the Operation Fast and Furious scandal to step down. Former Acting Deputy Attorney General Gary Grindler and Deputy Assistant Attorney General Jason Weinstein both resigned in the wake of the IG report.
Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassleythe ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committeecalled for Breuers resignation over a year ago, in December, 2011.
I have been investigating
Operation Fast and Furious for almost 11 months now, Grassley said on December 7, 2011, on the floor of the U.S. Senate. It is past time for accountability at the senior levels of the Justice Department. That accountability needs to start with the head of the Criminal Division, Lanny Breuer.

Now THIS is the ting I’d like to see investigated heavily. It seems to be falling by the wayside.
Kill 300+ Mexies and 2 US cops?
Ah...yeah, you gotta resign.
ONE PERSON.
So when is the lying bastard going to be prosecuted and thrown in jail???
..wonder how much this golden silent parachute cost the taxpayers..
“resign his post”, meaning he’ll be making a move to another federal job with at least as good of pay and benefits, right?
Are you kidding? He’ll wind up in a top tier D.C. law firm.
I’d bet he’s been the designated fall guy for this for quite awhile. I still believe the entire scenario was H. Clinton’s, and L. Breur is a Clintonite through, and true.
Put nothing, and I mean nothing past these very devious people.
Revolving door! He'll just go to work for Obama's new group that is formed to advance his agenda. Being part of Holder's DOJ and a long time Clinton cool aid drinker, he will get this gig with a good raise in salary and be ready as a campaign adviser for a 2016 Hillary runs.
I hope Holder hears the footsteps.
The Cajun ~:(from the article) “ Breuer is the last (KNOWN and Identified ) one of the three highest-ranking Department of Justice officials heavily criticized in the Inspector General investigation into the Operation Fast and Furious scandal to step down. “
( emphisis is mine )
But , he hasn’t yet retired !
Go figure !
C’mon Lanny. Spill the beans. Write a book. Do the right thing.
Fast and Furious Scandal
What Fast and Furious Scandal? The state controlled media is avoiding two dead federal employees and hundreds of dead Mexicans like the plague.
Scandal? We don't see no scandal.
If the shtf, the Washington and NY media need to be neutralized first. With extreme prejudice.

There has been no confirmation yet but a recently released video is allegedly an early DOJ training film exploring possible F&F franchises.

Again, these are allegations but this was supposed to have been filmed in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park.
