Las Vegas police were searching for answers Tuesday after one of their own killed his wife and son, called 911 to confess, then set his house on fire and committed suicide as rifle-toting cops moved in.
"I can't think of a reason for this, where something can get so bad that you'd do this," one veteran supervisor told the Las Vegas Review-Journal after the Monday murder-suicide.
Police have not released the name of the shooter but said he was a 52-year-old lieutenant with more than 20 years on the force. His wife was a retired officer, the newspaper said. Their son was about seven years old.

Guns are bad. Police need to disarmed as they are a danger to themselves, their families and the public. There's no need for them to be armed I mean after all they carry radios they can call the police. A radio is better than a gun, right Mayor?

This just proves that nobody except agents of the feral government should have access to guns.

I wonder if he was one those cops that gunned down the hapless guy at Costco a couple of years ago?

If I had to come up with a scenario, I would bet the wife was leaving and taking the child with her.

Ouch! This is terrible. Cops losing one of their own is bad enough but murder-suicide is more painful.
Interesting to note, though, that even in this case, the guy suicided when men with guns showed up.

Well, it certainly isn’t a values problem then. It HAS to be the guns. Whoever touches one wants to go and kill one’s spouse, children, etc., ad nauseum.

How is this going to be tied to the ‘assault rifle’ of current fad, hum, I ask you?
Media will be combing through the debri for that assault weapon!

That ‘hapless guy at Costco’ was a real tragedy.
Serves to remind people, how wrong it could get with ‘ignorant but enthusiastic’ public (in this case one Costco employee), mega-MIS-information from Costco management, and ‘government authority’ with guns.

Police need to be disarmed. They are self-proclaimed “experts” with guns. They are that more deadly than the average citizen. Better yet, we should round up all the officers and turn them in for $100 bucks.
