Obama's Target is Not Just Republicans, but the Constitution Itself

President Barack Obama's second inaugural address has been described as one of the most partisan ever given, heralding a sweeping left-wing agenda and demonizing his opponents. But President Obama's target is not simply the Republican Party: it is the Constitution itself, and the values of liberty that it enshrines.

In the address itself, President Obama made the case that liberty is not timeless; that it must adjust to the times, and that "preserving our individual freedoms ultimately requires collective action"--not to defend those freedoms from infringement, but to give them "meaning" through government regulation and redistribution.

White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer put the point more bluntly in remarks published earlier today:

“There’s a moment of opportunity now that’s important,” Pfeiffer said. “What’s frustrating is that we don’t have a political system or an opposition party worthy of the opportunity.”

Note the contempt in Pfeiffer's words--not just for the political opposition, but for the political system itself--a system designed by the Framers to include checks and balances to hold government power firmly in check...

The Republicans are well taken care of.. why should they go to bat for us. They are so entrenched in Washington that they are confused and think we all want this.

The left so hated Bush and the Conservatives that they are gleefully happy they have their socialist in the high office. They believe it will be a better life for them.. as short sighted as they are and as dumb as they are... they can’t see anything but “the conservatives have been defeated”. They will give up their freedom and never know what hit them in the glare of their idolatory for this dictator. And when it all turns into destruction, they will still be praising their leader, because he defeated Conservatism. Blind as can be and dumb as a rock and the Republicans could care less about the people out here. We aren’t at their doorstep.... we aren’t marching on Washington,... we aren’t pitching a hissy fit on TV... so we must be ok with this.

The anger out here over what is happening, has bypassed them completely. We are way too polite and way to tolerant for the likes of what has taken over our country. They will do us all in if we let them, and we aren’t the kind who fight ugly like the left. Maybe we should though. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I get angrier every day. I’ve turned off the TV completly... for they do not see this sob in the White House like I do. Blind, and willing to stay blind.

I just look at this and wonder... obama is an illegitimate President... he’s a socialist and worse... he’s taking our country to ruin... I can hardly believe it is happening.. like a real bad dream... how could it happen in this beloved country? The left are jubilant... we are stunned...angry and in disbelief. We could overturn this... but we are one here and one there...50 here and 50 there... no leader who is willing to fight... no one who will fight... so here we sit .. and talk it to death.

So, will we just learn to live with it? learn to live under Communism? I remember studying this and Russia, in jr high school.. wondering how Russia did this.. how did the people let them do this.. how and why did the newspapers side with the left... how? I’m now living it!

Those types of rumors have been afloat since Nixon was president. But I do think this yahoo in the WH is more motivated to acheive that end. And who knows...with the results of this past election...it might be doable for those who want a king.

Is not ratification by the states, by either a convention or through the individual state legislatures, a part of the amendment repeal process?

Or did they hide something *else* in the Obamacare text to deal with that as well?

You've asked the trillion dollar question Aria. We have told the low information voters time and again that they will come out on the losing end if they keep electing Democrats. We are shouting, or we were, to the media that they also lose when the Constitution is destroyed. How do you get through to people that voting against their own self interests is stupid? And when you DO tell them that they get angry at you! I throw my hands up with these clowns.

What is so galling is that we know that the media have been openly leftist and siding with communism in the past. But something even more dreadful is on the horizon, and they are willfully blind to it. People with common sense know what is coming. The media have no such common sense though.
