Actually it sounds to me like an argument for reducing restrictions on private weapons ownership, and ensuring that a large percentage of the civilian population is armed and trained in resistance tactics.
That and more solid intelligence about what the government planned, which suggests requiring more citizen access to government information and a more unbiased media, may well have changed the course of history in Europe.
The really poor aspect if the argument is that no one, him included probably, wants Naziesque policing (if we don’t have it already) or public works (when not made in the interest of football). Okay, maybe the highways. But have you eve seen models for future cities of the Thousand Year Reich? They make Egyptians appear modest in comparison.
There’s a reason when we complain about cops we refer to “gestapo tactics” and “jackbooted thugs.” What the author should’ve asked was should we drop compulsory education, animal rights, or something else both Hitler and most Americans believe in, just because they existed in Nazi Germany.
