PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A dead science teacher, weapons of mass destruction, first responders in hazmat suits and the Ohio Army National Guard all near the Municipal Stadium in Portsmouth, Thursday. There's no cause for alarm -- this is just a drill!
The mock disaster training exercise is being done with Scioto County first responders and the Ohio Army National Guard 52nd Civil Support Unit.
"It's the reality of the world we live in," says Portsmouth Police Chief Bill Raisin. "Don't forget there is such a thing as domestic terrorism. This helps us all be prepared."
The make-believe scenario is timely. Two school employees who are disgruntled over the government's interpretation of the Second Amendment, plot to use chemical, biological and radiological agents against members of the local community.
I’m wondering if the primary goal of this drill was to do SNA on the distribution of the story iteself, for battlespace prep. The boys and girls down in the fusion centers probably know the answer. But since they all took the same oath to defend the Constitution that we did, I’m sure we have nothing to worry about. Right?
I am not even sure any outside the military take an oath anymore.
Here is the email I just received from the author, totally buying the “random and accidental” theory of blaming RKBA advocates.
Matt, hello,
This is an ongoing exercise the OHIO National Guard does on monthly basis, with upcoming drills in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas up next.
No one inferred its a crime to disagree with the government. The case presented to them on that day in the mock disaster was that two people were creating chemical weapons to try to create a mass casualty event.
The scenario on that day was a disgruntled science teacher who had the brains, and a school custodian, who had the means, to disperse the agent as quickly as possible.
Guns played no role in that exercise at all.
The scenarios change with every exercise, so the soldiers and local law enforcement have no idea whats happening at the time. Its an element of surprise in training. If theyre training every month, on the exact same scenario it doesnt do anyone any good; the exercise just becomes rote.
Next month it could be international terrorists who captured outside a local airport.
It could be at a power plant, where, there are alarms going off and suspicious activity: That activity, in the exercise could turn out to be a false alarm, even in the drill.
Each time its different.
The exercise did not take place in a school. It took place in an abandoned city building next to the old Spartan Stadium. The scenario was the catch those responsible before they infiltrated the school.
The National Guard was involved in a chain of command exercise with local law enforcement.
The police arrived on scene, and called the local fire department,. When the fire department realized it was too large to handle or beyond their expertise, the county EMS director and resources were called in,
when that wasnt enough, the EMS director contacted the state National Guard.
The purpose, with the hundreds there involved, was to show real life protocol in case of some sort of disaster
As we have said, they’ll never attack a patriotic American, they’ll all them Domestic Terrorists first.
Still is!
He must be getting a little flak for this because he sent me the exact same message. I didn’t mention anything about guns, or the Tea Party, etc., I just asked for the origination of the scenario, who set it up.
