One month after the school massacre in Newtown, Conn., President Obama attributed the recent surge of weapons sales to efforts by gun control foes to arouse fears that the federal government would seize firearms.
Obama said he would unveil details of his "sensible, common-sense" program for tighter gun controls later this week. The president, responding to questions at a White House news conference Monday, said those steps would include "an assault weapons ban that is meaningful," stronger background checks and measures to keep high-capacity magazine clips "out of the hands of folks who shouldn't have them."
Asked at his news conference about the boom in weapons sales amid administration efforts to tighten gun rules, Obama said gun control opponents "have a pretty effective way of ginning up fear on the part of gun owners that somehow the federal government is about to take all your guns away."
The administration's gun control agenda is being fashioned by Vice President Joe Biden...

Let me see; “folks” that shouldn’t have them . . would that be “Tea Party” “folks” and Conservative “folks”? Certainly not “Occupy” “folks”! Up is down. Down is up. Good is bad. Bad is good. - It IS scary.
Thanks Travis, I’ve been seeing and admiring your graphics.
Of course we are.
“Obama said he would unveil details of his “sensible, common-sense” program for tighter gun controls”
Notice that they call it a program and not a proposal. The President can only propose laws, he has no authority to make laws himself, so anything proper that he comes up with should at most be a proposal, to be submitted to Congress. The fact that they are calling it a “program” is admitting right there that what he is planning is unconstitutional.
Someone tried to tell me today that he was going to do this through Executive Orders, and read something from wikipedia that says EOs are binding laws. Well, I replied that I don’t give a darn what wikipedia, or the Supreme Court says about it, there is no authority in the Constitution for the President to make laws. If he tries to do that, I will consider them unconstitutional and feel free to disobey them at my discretion with no worries of conscience.
We are not supposed to notice those things. Such as noticing that shooting someone in California has less consequences then shooting someone in Texas.
Typical libs. I’m visitng my parents and dad had in on CNN (I know) and that Brit idiot Morgan came on and it was a “gun” special.
In the first 5 minutes they laid out some of the proposed ideas by the administration and the guest (some idiot mayor, Dem) actually said, “while these ideas won’t stop gun crime or violence, they are sensible”.
HUH? Orwell was a prophet.
Thanks, glad you like them, forward or copy them to your “moderate” friends and family.....it’s meme warfare.
You cannot defeat perfect utopian thinking with facts or logic.
It IS meme warfare... all we can do is turn the statehouses redder and redder since we lost national vote integrity.
Not by fear, asshole.

Fear that the wannabe tinpot african muslim dictator will finish going through the Bill of Rights and cancelling them all untouched by Congress, the Law, the Supreme Court and supported by his perceived mandate by the mob of fraudulent voters.
I love how they don’t want to take away my guns. Well, except for AR-15s. But that doesn’t count.
Have you read Uninteded Consequences?
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
Obama’s gun control efforts are driven by fear.
He’s projecting the hysteria of his small anti-American, anti-Second-Amendment constituency on his enemies: Americans.
