Cuomo Signs Gun Legislation Into Law

ALBANY — Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed into law on Tuesday a sweeping package of gun control measures, significantly expanding a ban on assault weapons and making New York the first state to change its laws in response to the mass shooting at a Connecticut elementary school.

Mr. Cuomo signed the bill less than an hour after the State Assembly approved the legislation on a 104-to-43 vote. The State Senate approved the measure, 43 to 18, on Monday night.

The expanded ban on assault weapons broadens the definition of such weapons, banning semiautomatic pistols and rifles with detachable magazines and one military-style feature, as well as semiautomatic shotguns with one military-style feature. New Yorkers who already own such guns can keep them but will be required to register them with the state.

What most don’t understand about NY gun laws is: normal rifles and shotguns are not “firearms”.

“Firearms” in NY are whatever is defined as regulated and restricted or banned, to wit handguns, assault weapons, short barreled rifles/shotguns, and machineguns.

You might also mention the Korean merchants in LA during the Rodney King riots, who defended their stores against MOBS with these so called "assault weapons." Theirs were the only stores that weren't looted or burned.

But if that's not recent enough, mention the woman in (I believe it was) Georgia, who was defending her two children against a home invader, and who shot the invader 5 TIMES in the face and chest, and he still didn't go down!

Who decides, Government appointed psychologists who have political agendas? What are the definitions and parameters?

With Obamacare, practically anyone with access can put anything into your national database records and it will be there forever. There is no appeal process to remove erroneous information.

If somebody with access to your records thinks you're a nut (or has it in for you) and puts in your records you have mental problem - guess what? You are officially a nut! Permanently, in the eyes of the gun grabbers.

OK .. this one slipped by me for a while ... until a Texas listener sent me an article from the Ft. Worth Star Telegram. You know I’m not particularly fond of the federal Section 8 housing program. This is a program whereby HUD takes taxpayer money and gives it to individual citizens to be used to pay their rent. In some communities in this nation people can qualify for as much as $2,500 a month ... that’s $30,000 a year ... in taxpayer funded rent subsidies. Simply put --- another income redistribution program from Washington. Another vote-buying program. Now --- and please sit down --- now HUD, under Andrew Cuomo, is starting a program whereby these citizens can use these vouchers not to help them pay rent, but to help them pay mortgages! You got it! Now you can look forward to the Imperial Federal Government of the United States seizing your property --- your earnings --- and giving those earnings to other people who do not pay federal income taxes so that they can use the money to pay their mortgage payments! Can anyone give me a moral justification for this nonsense? One question --- when these parasites finally sell those homes, will they reimburse the taxpayers out of the profit? In schools today there are plenty of bomb threats. They are all false. Some day there will be know warning because real bombers just quietly place the bomb and BOOM.

It's not practical to ban diesel fuel and lawn fertilizers (I'm not going to post the ingredients in a diesel fuel - fertilizer bomb, but many people can guess), but they can ban high-capacity fuel cans, the ones that hold more than one gallon of fuel, and large sacks of fertilizer. They should probably ban vehicles with large fuel tanks too - no one really needs to go more than 15-25 miles all at once, and if they do, they can stop at a gas station. We should require zoning of 1/8 acre or less - no one needs a larger lawn. It's as sensible as current gun regulations, so it just might pass.

hell on one site called city data they had mods which help you move to areas, and actually tell their people to move and change policy .

One town in CO had less than 2,000 people but slowly the turd feces lovers moved in and over time they became a large part of that town and thus voted their kind of Mayor in etc.
The town was a small conservative Christian town but forget the name of it now but alas it;s no longer conservative as they now have their freak parades
