Barack Obama, frustrated with continued construction in Israeli settlements in the West Bank, has reportedly become “inured” to the issue and has begun telling colleagues that Israel is acting against its own best interests.
If accurately reported, such comments, expressed by the head of state of the country Israel considers its closest ally, may represent a new low in relations between this US administration and Jerusalem, which in recent years have suffered strains over the Palestinian and Iranian issues.
According to the report by Bloomberg columnist Jeffrey Goldberg published Tuesday morning, Obama last month began repeating the mantra that “Israel doesn’t know what its own best interests are.”
The two leaders will have to deal with each other for several more years, should Netanyahu cruise to an election victory on January 22 as expected.
“I don’t think we are headed for a showdown,” Aaron David Miller, a scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center, told the Associated Press recently, “but the relationship will continue to be dysfunctional.”

Let Obama do his job and take care of his problems here at home - like the US exceeding its debt limit - before telling the Israelis what their best interests are.

That continually proclaim at the top of their voice and has proved openly on a daily basis to the same entire planet and all people who are not total imbeciles, that their sole purpose is to eradicate, kill, slaughter, wipe out,the state of Israel and every man, woman and child.
As for peace, these are the people who cave in the head of their own wives and daughters, strap suicide bombs to the body of their children, cut off the head of young Italian man on the Internet for all the world to see,attack and kill three thousand of our citizens and what little time they are not doing or even while they are, they're using poison gas on each other, would not recognize peace if it walked up and kissed them in the mouth.

Just cut off the money, water, food and electricity to those 19 terrorists camps we've been funding for the last half century and in a years time the west bank will be a ghost town just like the towns of the old west when the money run out.
