No, you are not a felon or a 2nd Class citizen if you call a "magazine" a "clip." It IS something you might as well get figured out, though, and correct if you want to have respect within the shooting community. It's just a fact, many will judge you as someone who doesn't know much about firearms if you call them "clips." I might still love you, but many won't. :-)

Some rifles uses clips, some use detachable magazines.

I tried out my new Kel-Tec P-3AT this weekend.
I normally carry a Glock 27 but I guarantee you would change your tune when a couple of those little .380 bastards bit into yer butt.
Remington Golden Saber ammunition 380 ACP 102 grain brass jacketed hollow point is a very impressive round especially since I can carry my LCP in my pocket just like my keys whereas the Glock 27 I cannot.
The compact gun you have with you is better than the bad ass elephant gun at home.
However, I tend to cut armed old ladies some slack for a field they aren't familiar with. ;)

Well, I was trained on an AR15 in Army basic.
Interesting. In 40 years of shooting, I've always been able to use context to avoid that confusion. Only with firearms that take chargers and removable magazines is there any reason to be confused at all, and then a very short remediation would cure it.
See I think it is when someone becomes a total A-hole about minor issues that people start to wonder what is the matter with them.
And by the way, when a gun is empty, the shooter is out of cartridges and out of bullets.
I know the difference between clips and magazines. When I find out there is something I don't know, I start researching until I know it. When I started looking for ammo, I read every freaking description of every freaking cartridge to determine the main use for that cartridge.
Oh heck no... there's always a piece of a box in almost any drawer you want to open, or shelf with a little space. ;)
Or as my daughter said one time: "I washed just your socks. How the hell do 2 each .22 rounds wind up in your socks?"

I am a female who has a Ruger LC9 for concealed carry with a crimson trace laser. My other 9mm are too large to conceal carry and I it shoots well-not much recoil for a small 9mm.

:-)
That’s funny. You know I have a cartridge jar, just like I have a coin jar, because I always seem to end up with an odd round here or there when I clean out the carry bags or my pockets.
BUT, the sock story takes the cake.
Hickok45 should be mandatory viewing for kids in classrooms.
I love the guy!
Just picked an LC9 up for my wife. Haven’t had a chance yet to fire it... soon.
Seems like a good balance of power versus size.
I do have expectations that the media would at least report it right, but the truth is that they are almost always wrong on everything, firearms related or not. You can't fix stupid.
I prefer not to get into the mag vs. clip argument with Lefties, because I reject their underlying arguments and that is the MUCH BIGGER deal. I don't want to lose my audience getting into the terminology when it doesn't ultimately matter. We've already won over the folks that know what we are talking about and we aren't going to impress the low-information folks with our precise descriptors. The issue is basic freedom, that is an easy concept to understand.
We found out that if you slide the slide back and release it without latching it that it is easier.
We haven't had a chance to fire it yet. I had some Nato 9mm ammo. Can it be fired in the LC9?
Thank you all for your feedback - I do appreciate it - going to fill out the paperwork tomorrow to get the LC9 - Thanks!!
My father-in-law just purchased the Ruger LC9. He has shot a couple hundred rounds and likes it a lot. I like the size for concealed.
