Yup, pretty good comparison.
Tebow is very likely to be out of football next season because he just doesn't have the potential to be a really great quarterback. Few teams want to invest the time in someone they can plainly see on film and in workouts doesn't have the fundamentals to even develop into an elite QB. The NFL is all about min/maxing. In key positions, teams aren't looking for a jack of all trades, master of none type of player.
Tebow has a winning attitude and personality though. With his size, if he was willing to maybe be a tight end who is also a 3rd string quarterback, he could really be valuable to someone. If he wants to stay in the NFL though in that capacity, he would probably have to stay out of the spotlight. One of the other reasons teams avoid him is they know because Tebow is outspoken about his faith and a big media draw, he is a potential QB controversy waiting to happen if the starter(s) are having a bad season.
For the most part I agree, and yet, I would contend that if Kordell had continued his career as "Slash" he would have been a serious Hall Of Fame contender in a George Blanda, utility player kind of way.
As it is, I think his reality TV gig may be about the best he's going to get.
Canada could be a good fit. Anyone here follow the CFL?
