If I recall correctly, the guy was still moving, managed to run away, and survived.
Sounds like she didn’t shoot him enough.
“Shoot Him Again! Shoot Him!: Husband Coaches Wife to Shoot Home Invader in Chilling 911 Audio”
Bad guy was shot. Good guys survived.
Not feeling the chill.
Yeah, not chilled at all. Seems like a mostly feel good story - other than that the burglar didn’t die. Shame about that.
The perp was after her, there was nothing of value to steal in the attic.
In the Red-Coat's home country that he wishes the US would be more like, Melinda would be arrested and charged with murder.
Happy ending. And that right there is why we all need 30 round magazines.
I didn’t read the story yet. However my husband would never have to tell me to shoot. Ha ha. I feel sorry for any sucker who think my man would have to.
I love a story with a happy ending!
I wonder if the perp was just looking for Skittles?
Then the idiot husband says to the 911 operator that he heard the perp “pleading.”
On tape.
Idiot. Keep your mouth shut.
Also, 5 rounds to take down one perp. What if there were two? Three? Six?
How many rounds would you want in YOUR magazine?
Democrats want her to die !!!
“....Wife to Shoot Home Invader in Chilling 911 Audio”
.
What’s so chilling about it?
Loving husband instructing wife to shoot as long as opponent remains standing.
Isn’t love never having to say you’re sorry?
Sorry, but somebody had to say it...
So... the moral of this story for me is to keep my .9mm Beretta handy by the side of the bed and use the .38 revolver as a backup.
More punch, more rounds.
I’m relieved that she called her husband. 911 would have instructed her to give the gun to the perp.
The guy did make it to the hospital
This incident occurred because she was shooting .38 cal. ball rounds.
She should have been using .38 cal hydra-shock +p’s
After discharging the weapon in a small space , she couldn’t hear her husband on the phone : all the more reason for using a ‘silencer’ in a closed area .
Thank goodness her husband brought her to the range to train her on the firearm ~ let that be a lesson to us all .
When the criminal looks in a crawlspace, he’s not looking for cash or jewelery. He heard people and was looking for entertainment. I’m glad she was armed and the entertainment was one-sided. How much chance would she have had unarmed against a guy who could take five shots to the face, neck, lungs, and liver and still get away?
The woman handled things perfectly, and I imagine her husband is justifiably proud of her. My only criticism is of the husband. He needs some serious self-defense ammo in that revolver. It may be the right weapon for his wife, and judging by her shooting it probably is, but if he chose the ammo, he did a lousy job. If that criminal comes back, once he’s out of the hospital and then prison, I hope she has the right ammo to solve the problem permanently.
Hopefully her husband will do something warm and fuzzy like get his wife a pistol with several extended mags as a Valentine’s Day present. And/or a shotgun.
Ridiculously ambiguous, misleading headline, bordering on incompetence.
Is the "chilling" adjective referring to having dealt with an animal as he deserved?
Or is it applied to the necessity of having to go, with her children, into a house's crawlspace to escape the useless waste of oxygen?
Morons (including the Mensa candidate Juan williams) on TV are arguing that she "should have called 911..."
Guess they haven't heard the reality that when seconds count, the police are only minutes away..."
Wow. That husband was as cool as a cucumber. The neighbors had more adrenalin pumping than he did. Something isn’t right with this story. Mark my words.
