The National Rifle Association met with Vice President Joe Biden Thursday and it did not go well.
We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment, the group said in a statement released Thursday afternoon.
The full statement:
The National Rifle Association of America is made up of over 4 million moms and dads, daughters and sons, who are involved in the national conversation about how to prevent a tragedy like Newtown from ever happening again. We attended todays White House meeting to discuss how to keep our children safe and were prepared to have a meaningful conversation about school safety, mental health issues, the marketing of violence to our kids and the collapse of federal prosecutions of violent criminals.

I’m sure it was pretty much a waste of time, just like liberals everywhere.
I would be interested in learning about what Ducks Unlimited, Shooting Sports Association and others had to say about the meeting.
Even more telling will be the meeting and responses from major retailers.
My personally feeling is that no matter what they heard Big Zero wants to implement (1) a high capacity magazine limit of 10 rounds on all weapons (and make them illegal retroactively), (2) impose high taxes on firearms and ammo, (3) impose a mandatory federal background check system on all firearm “transfers” whether they are commercial sales or parents giving them to children, and (4) ban so-called assault weapons based on cosmetic appearance.
I also expect to soon hear about import restrictions on a variety of firearms and ammo from overseas manufacturers and importers. I also expect to hear about the EPA declaring lead in bullets to be a major environmental and health hazard that should require the ban and disposal at federal collection points of all lead ammunition (bullets, cartridges, shotgun shells). Finally, I expect the CDC to be directed to develop public health programs to regulate firearms as a public health issue.
This is going to get so ugly.
At least the NRA is doing something to defend the Constitution against these petty tyrants. McConnell, Boner, et al. are MIA on this issue and on the daily threats against liberty by this administration.
I am surprised they bluntly said it was such a waste of time and accused biden of doing a show meeting. It is pretty open to say that.
The truth shall set us free.
..including the 11 at Odungos school
Obama’s favorite MO seems to be hauling out the teleprompter and giving his “adoring” public a good little lecture (in response to some “crisis” or the other) about how “this is HOW it’s going to be done, so let it be written, so let it be done, and the Constitution be hanged!)
Biden talking about having something ready for 0dumbo by Tuesday. They are pushing this thing as hard and fast as they can. I agree with previous poster. 0dumbo already has the EO written and this Biden thing is all a sham.
I really can’t afford it but I just joined the NRA.
Not trying to be alarmist, and I hope the rumor is not true, but just heard from a Pentagon contact that there were high level meetings at the Pentagon today, including Secretary Panetta, that was analyzing the role the US Military would play in a mandatory gun turn-in program or complete gun confiscation.
Again, I hope there is no truth to this rumor.
Not in the least. And I’m sure that neither the NRA, nor the American people are surprised, either.
Wonder if it will make the news.
plain talk ~:” The dems no longer bother with pretenses anymore. They already have their plan and dont need any input.”
They had their minds made up ; no sense in being distracted by facts !
I got an email notice yesterday on the “Banned Guns” itemized , followed by a commentary:
“Attorney General gets carte blanche to ban guns at will: Under the proposal, the U.S. Attorney General can add any “semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General.”
Note that Obama’s pick for this office, Eric Holder, wrote a brief in the Heller case supporting the position that you have no right to have a working firearm in your own home. In making this determination, the bill says, “there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.” In plain English this means that ANY firearm ever obtained by federal officers or the military is not suitable for the public.
The last part is particularly clever, stating that a firearm doesn’t have a sporting purpose just because it can be used for sporting purpose — is that devious or what? And of course, “sporting purpose” is a rights infringement with no constitutional or historical support whatsoever, invented by domestic enemies of the right to keep and bear arms to further their cause of disarming the innocent. “
Biden wants to take away Civil Rights
CNN wants to take away Civil Rights
MSNBC wants to take away Civil Rights
Feinstein wants to take away Civil Rights
Obama wants to take away Civil Rights
Pelosi Wants to take away Civil Rights
repeat repeat repeat.
This is now a civil rights issue with Democrats taking away civil rights.
The agenda has always been more about banning all guns than about addressing violence.
I just got back from picking up my third handgun since the 1st of the year and this is only 10 days into the new year. They will have a hard time confiscating from me since none of my purchases went through NICS!
Long Live Bushmaster!
