RD :”So I can marry a woman in New York, then cone to Maryland and marry a wife there? You claim I can legally have 50 wives in the U.S and I haven’t broken a single law?”

DOMA says nothing about that.

Nor does it say that NYC must honor my GA gun license. It says that the Federal government does not recognize SS marriage.

but it does honor your marriage license

does the full faith and credit clause have any meaning?

RE :”Can I have a District of Columbia wife too?”

If the state you are in allows it. But don't think under your convoluted theory that a state that outlaws bigamy must recognize a second wife in another state, anymore than they have to recognize your marriage to a male homo from another state .

It doesn't mean that each state must honor other states laws contrary to their own.
Hell, if that was the case states would be pointless.

If a state wants to honor other states laws that is fine, but if they are forced to then why have states?

Call me when NYC is forced to honor my GA gun registration and license and we can talk, but I will be %%$$ed if I will agreed that this only protects perversion and not real constitutional freedoms like my right to a gun.

How about if a state allows a contract where if one party doesn’t pay the other within a certain period of time the debtor can be tracked down and killed by the loaner. or loaner’s representatives.

If the debtor flees to another state to avoid payment can the loaner follow him to the other state and kill him even though it it illegal, full faith and credit??

murder is illegal in every state

you were doing better with gun permits

you are right though - gun permits are not honored in all states under the full faith and credit clause - it might be that it has never been tested and ruled on - i don't know

but marriage licenses are

maybe one day levin will discuss it

I didn’t say that there were no state rights. I said marriage wasn’t one.
You changed the subject to gins, because you couldn’t answer the point. Try again.

Ridiculous comment.

No it is not. Newt could have withdrawn from some key primaries where he had absolutely no chance to win, it could have given the win to Santorum and would not have affected his race at all. He chose to stay in and be a disruptor, it may not have mattered in the end, but, it could have denied a first ballot win for Romney. Sadly many Freepers were just as adamant as Newt, but that is a story for another day.

Newt is a genius, but he is become enlightened not unlike Barry Goldwater before him. Homosexuality and the acceptance of them will destroy our Republic and replace it with a hedonistic society unworthy of leading the freeworld.

You are just making up stuff. Show me one case that a state didn’t uphold another state’s marriage. Show me one case where this was validated as a defense toward bigamy. Stop spewing ignorance to inflate Gingrich’s ego.

So called? They were well defined.

Newt will “evolve” on pedophilia once the Democrats have succeeded in “normalizing” that, too.

>> he said the gop should not fight gay marriage because it is politically inconvenient - he evolved to that point of view

Haven’t seen the interview, but no doubt he’s dismissing the issue as a “fruitless” battle.

>> are you one of the women he cheated on his wives with?

That wasn’t necessary.

Can he get kicked back out of the Catholic church?

They wouldn't "kick out" drunk fat Ted, they won't kick out Pelosi, et al. Why would they kick out the noob Gingrich?

If a state allows bigamy and a married triple moves to state with normal marriage law you think they will honor the triple?

You are the one defending Gingrich by attacking DOMA and defending pervert marriage.

call me when NYC honors other states gun laws.

8:15 Newt explains his new position that he thinks DOMA should be repealed : “Republican must face the human circumstances of SS marriage in 9 states and what those married couples must face when visiting the other (41) states where its not legal”

greengrinches words...

states *rights* vs DOMA vs [full faith and credit in] the Constitution ???

all other issues aside, the US Constitution *should* trump, but usually hasnt, especially in the 2A dept...

but back to the thread and noots own words...essentially 'they' *won* and the rest of us need to just git with the program and take the issue off the table...???

conservative champion, that guy...

DOMA essentially keeps the fed, as in the IRS, from accepting the sodomy lobby...puffers and packers are free to enjoy their 9 states and leave the rest of us alone, but they wont...

political expediency-wise, we're screwed, and will eventually have to asset those long diminished 2A Rights...you know, the ones actually included and codified in the Constitution...

everything else is greengrinch feathering his nest...
