Joe Biden guarantees Obama will bypass reluctant Republicans and cement new gun control laws

Vice President Biden pledged Wednesday that President Obama will bypass a reluctant Republicans in Congress and take executive action to curb gun violence, prompting a full-blown fit from conservative gun rights backers.

Biden heads a White House task force set this month to release proposals in response to the Newtown shooting. He told reporters before a Wednesday meeting with gun violence victims and gun control groups that Obama will not let Republican resistance prevent action.

"The president is going to act. There are executives orders, there's executive action that can be taken," Biden said. "We haven't decided what that is yet." Biden said Obama will also offer legislative proposals.

The Vice President's remarks set a tough tone ahead of another meeting Thursday with pro-gun organizations including the National Rifle Association and Wal-Mart, the nation's leading seller of firearms.

"I want to make clear that we're not going to get caught up in the notion that, unless we can do everything, were going to do nothing," said Biden, who was joined at the meeting by Attorney General Eric Holder.

I can’t believe this nightmare . The greatest society ever ( the U.S.) and the news media gets a piece of crap , communist, anti-American ,monster named Obama elected dictator for life.

Sometimes I feel like is this real, is this piece of crap Obama really president? and then I feel like after waking up from a nightmare and you say “oh it was only a nightmare” but you then realize you are in the nightmare. the horror. All I want is secession.

It is like that I (or we) somehow fell through a crack in the space/time continuum and ended up in this alternate world and reality where everything we know and understand has been twisted into the opposite.

I keep hoping that this is a nightmare and I have been experiencing a long, long dream and all of a sudden, It is 1982/84 and Mom wakes me up to go to high school. However, that happening is Slim to None and Slim left town. BTW, back in the early 1980's, my German teacher did warn us that if we were not careful and vigilant, we will lose our freedoms after he showed is pics of the East German trip he took a class on back in 1979. I'd love to hear his thoughts now but he passed on in 1993. Also back then, I asked the question in 1983, "What if the US became the USSR and the USSR became the US? What if we ever became the 'Evil Empire?'" Man, between him and I, we were prophetic. I kept warning people from the 1980's to now about it.

Come to think of it, I did have a dream once where my 46 year old mind went back in time to my 8 year old body in 1974 and I remember telling my parents about 9/11, Bronco Bama, the fall of the USSR, the Gulf Wars and so on. Sometimes I wish I could do that, maybe I could stop some of this along with trying harder to get Elaine S. to go on a date with me and work it form there. B-) I had a similar dream but I ended up in 1983 along with my best friend where the same happened to him. At least in this case, I'd have a start of a brain trust. B-)

Dang, I remember the Reagan era. It does not seem that long ago to me, yet it seems like it was a different era, different world. As I watched a clip of "Airwolf" (from 1984) on YouTube, I thought to myself, I do miss the Cold War, under those circumstances, Bronco Bama would never have been electable, most likely, he would have been finished in the primaries.

It also feels like I sent time in space and come back to a weird world, if it was up to me, I'd stay in space although when my food, supplies and power (nuke or when the solar panels get old along with the batteries) run out, I'd have to come back sometime.

Just some thoughts and ramblings before I head off to the Land of Nod. Just got a new job that hiked me up two tax brackets and now I have "Sagans" of welfare bums depending on me. B-P
