n spite of Vice President Joe Bidens threat in this mornings gun grab task force meeting that executive actions are on the way, the legitimacy and survivability of such a move is by no means assured, as the gun ban juggernaut, reanimated following Sandy Hook, has encountered some unforeseen bumps in the road that have the potential of halting it in its tracks with no place to go that isnt blocked.

If the lefties keep pushing gun control this way in another two decades one out of two Americans may be gun owners instead of one out of three.
MOLON LAVE!
Great article. I love the agression. Why should we cower in the corner when we have the advantage? Will be sending these recommendations and a few other tidbits to my rep, Aaron Schock, who, I am proud to say, is not only 100% NRA-rated, but was out just a few days after Sandy Hook with the same kind of in-your-face push-back this author demonstrates. And if the conduct of the task force is illegal, I wonder what the remedy is? Something to ask Rep. Schock about. Don’t know if he’s aware of the issue.
“Start by repealing the idiotic portions of the NFA 34 and GCA 68.”
Absolutely, FRiend.
The entirety of both bills is idiotic. Both should be repealed in full.
Where is ANYONE asking about the thousands of ASSAULT weapons deliberately supplied by this very administration to Mexican drug cartels not to mention military weapons running through Benghazi (probably without Biden style background checks)....God help us.
I demand that the unConstitional Gun Control Acts of 1934, 1968 and 1986 be fully repealed. Shall not be infringed is a Constitutional mandate. Does this nation have a rule of law or not?

First, welcome to the forum.
Second, let me say what I’ve been saying to many people who are going all “chicken little” about an AWB—CHILL OUT!
I work in DC for a lobby firm and before that I spent 2 years working as a staffer on Capitol Hill for now retired Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) and still have many contacts on the Hill. I’m also very close friends with several NRA-ILA lobbyists, including the head of their federal affairs division, who is a friend of mine so I have first hand knowledge of what I speak.
While we should all be politically active and aware, the realistic odds of a new ban passing this Congress is unlikely IMPO. Obama couldn’t get one passed in ‘09 when the Dems controlled both houses of congress with super-majorities. I can’t conceive of a scenario where the GOP House majority —especially the Tea Party elements of it— would go along and pass this nonsense. My contacts are all telling me that there is ZERO appetite in the House to take up any AWB.
Remember, just because a bill is introduced doesn’t mean it goes anywhere. There are anywhere between 8-10K bills that get introduced every Congress (which is 2 yrs long) and the vast majority of them die in the bowls of a committee somewhere and that is where I predict the AWB bills will end up. Even in the Senate, there are enough GOP senators still there to filibuster and block any bill that gets brought up there.
So again, we should all be active, writing our reps and paying attention, but let’s not get overcome by fear, remain rational and grounded in reality.
..."there have been concerns expressed that a compromise of some sort might be in the works, particularly if only NRA and industry representatives attend the stakeholder meeting, and especially if no record of the proceedings, negotiations and potential concessions is kept. That Congress, and not just ostensibly pro-gun representatives, but the soft, squishy middle, will be too spooked to just oppose all gun control proposals and feel compelled to offer up something, lest they suffer the wrath of manipulated constituencies, has been a subject of concern among some gun rights leaders, resulting in speculation that either an expansion of mental health disabilities or caving on private sales might be offered up to take the heat off the hardware. That, of course, would be foolish and divisive, and any leader proposing such an intolerable compromise would correctly be perceived as a sell-out by a growing army of gun owner activists who are quickly replacing their natural initial fears with a readiness to fight. They have shown little tolerance thus far for industry members who have abandoned them in this time of need and withdrawn from the field due to posturing before the real battle has even started, and words like Quisling are freely and contemptuously thrown about in gun activist forums, along with commitments to boycott those perceived as turncoats, or simply as save-their-own-skin cowards."
Like Hitler, Dear Leader seeks first a "Munich Agreement" before beginning an all out war effort to impose tyranny.
The Munich Agreement was a settlement permitting Nazi Germany's annexation of Czechoslovakia's areas along the country's borders mainly inhabited by ethnic Germans for which a new territorial designation "Sudetenland" was coined. The agreement was negotiated at a conference held in Munich, Germany, among the major powers of Europe without the presence of Czechoslovakia. Today, it is widely regarded as a failed act of appeasement toward Germany.
Dear Leader invites participants that will give his actions to follow the appearance of credibility and legitimacy. Nothing could be further from the truth as Czechoslovakia would attest then and ALL with the inalienable right to life and the defense thereof will attest now. A committee can not take away that which is endowed all by the Creator!
My pledge is to contact my antigun Congresswoman daily. I will throw everything I have at her until she gets the message. Today's rant was a push for her to support H.R.35 the Safe Schools Act of 2013. We all need to hit our Reps daily and overwhelm their inboxes. The theme must be on target...NO TO GUN CONTROL!!
Interestingly, state levels are as bright red as they have ever been in history. Republicans even made gains this past November in state legislatures, I believe.
“What will happen is that the White House will have to back down from its talk, for the 2014 election will be the biggest WIPE-OUT of Democrats in history,...”
That is why Hussein will do it by executive order - can’t blame Democrats since they will have no hand in it and Hussein doesn’t care anyway since he’s on his way out. He WILL do it by executive order.
The primary reasons the rats lost the House for the first time in 40 years back in 1994 was because of their "gun control" legislation, as well as their massive 1993 tax hike, and the House banking scandal. So far, we have rat wanting more taxes and rats wanting "gun control" AGAIN. I am liking where this is going. The biggest difference between then and now is that the rats have successfuly grown their voting base of moochers bigger than ever.
when someone says they plan on taking my guns and are exploring using an executive order to do it I take them at their word, as only an insame person or tyrant would contemplate such a thing much less talk about it.
In solid blue states too? I did not know that. Good for Chicago.
DiFi would ban all guns if she had the votes.
Yep, Chicago is so red you can see the red in the streets and on the sidewalks.
You know that many people that voted for obama? I know two people (an ex-daughter-in-law and one of my idiot son’s present girlfriend) who are very liberal and like obama but they never got around to registering vote. Of course we don’t have Voter ID in Mississippi so if they know someone’s address and have an expectation that they will not vote ( such as they are dead ) they can just show up give them a name and vote for them (the ZOMBIE vote) I don’t know if they did that but there would be nothing to stop them.
And those moochers want to keep their guns. Dems are toast.
“That is why Hussein will do it by executive order - cant blame Democrats since they will have no hand in it and Hussein doesnt care anyway since hes on his way out. He WILL do it by executive order.”
Not really. First, there will be attempts to override the EOs, and in the House that will FORCE the Dems to vote on this stuff. In the Senate it will be ugly too...with Reid trying to prevent a vote, but people screaming. It will not be pretty, for them.
