A 22-year-old spent the night in the Montgomery County Jail Monday after he allegedly taunted a police dog during a traffic stop.
Cameron Dunn is facing a misdemeanor charge of assaulting or harassing police dog.
According to a Montgomery County Sheriffs Office report, police K9 Gunner and his deputy handler were called to the intersection of Mad River Road and Hempstead Mews at about 4:50 p.m. Monday to assist in a traffic stop.
Dunn was being detained in the backseat of a cruiser while the dog performed a sniff of his vehicle checking for drugs.
As Gunner walked past the cruiser Dunn began barking at the dog and hitting the window of the cruiser, according to the report.
Gunner started moving towards the cruiser but was pulled away by the deputy.
During the sniff of the car the dog hit on the odor of drugs on the passenger side of the car and marijuana seeds were found on the floorboards of the car.
Deputies booked Dunn into jail Monday evening and his bond has been set at $2,000. He is scheduled to appear in Kettering Municpal Court on Jan. 14.
I don't see that particular "meme" too frequently here. However, lots of us know that a significant number of LEOs are bad, and it doesn't take very many to be a problem.
>Sounds like the puke deserved what he got.
Hopefully, someone will say that in reference to you someday.
Source? The article does not mention any traffic or drug charges, only harassing a police dog.
The head line intrigued me, so I read the article. Of course, there was more to the story. I posted it to read the wit and wisdom of my fellow Freepers...although I will be disappointed if we do not see the obligatory picture of Helen Thomas. :)
Is this a good time to point out that these K9 units have untold hours of downtime and pi** public money up the wall with their frequent school PR visits?
Is this also a good time to point out that the K9 handlers have a very high opinion of themselves because they - gasp - can hold a dog leash and wear ludicrous paramilitary gear?
If I were to act like he did, I’d deserve it.
Yes. well of course you are correct.
I happen to like the dogs but yes, they are expensive.
(Just one of Obama’s many super-costly lavish taxpayer=paid vacations would pay for all the pooches, however....)
Thank you!!!! :) Freepers can bring a smile to my face like few people I know!!!
I would have preferred the K-9 Officer let his 4-legged partner handle the situation on his own.
This issue has come up in Ohio in the past: http://www.athensnews.com/ohio/article-9441-judges-ruling-barking-at-police-dogs-protected-speech.html

This is from the article:
During the sniff of the car the dog hit on the odor of drugs on the passenger side of the car and marijuana seeds were found on the floorboards of the car.
It is an assumption on my part—but drugs were found in his car.
Mr. Wiggles and Dougie do not tolerate intruders and/or guests but they will not go to jail for their privilege to secure our premises.
They know their rights and so do I...!
HA!
Or, as a few Freepers have put it:
"That which has been seen, cannot be unseen."
Oh, yeah, not criticizing you. The rule is to post the actual headline. Not the Freeper’s fault that so many MSM headlines are based on distortions and lies.
Oh, they found SEEDS? Well, of course, that’s big time stuff. I don’t smoke pot and don’t care about it one way or the other, but, for example, I only own used cars. There could be seeds somewhere in my car for all I know. This is stupid.
Much easier on a sensitive stomach.
