On Tuesday morning, commentary on the broadcast of the Bowl Championship Series national title game between Alabama and Notre Dame included words like creepy, awkward, uncomfortable and heteronormative.
The subject was not Alabamas 42-14 victory, but comments made during the game by the ESPN play-by-play announcer Brent Musburger regarding the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A J McCarron. In the first quarter, ESPN showed McCarrons girlfriend, Katherine Webb, who was sitting near his parents. Musburger called the 23-year-old Webb, a former Miss Alabama, a lovely lady and beautiful, and said to his broadcast partner, Kirk Herbstreit, a former quarterback at Ohio State, You quarterbacks get all the good-looking women.

Some people just can’t handle another person getting the attention they secretly covet for themselves.

When I heard Brent say that, I didn’t think it was inappriate at all. For Heavens sake, if we think we need to censor things like that at a football game, why even air football games at all? You hear far worse things just on commercials.

I think the game had become so boring he was trying to think of something to say! I didn’t think anything about it when he said it.

Geez, then keep Bill Clinton from running the camera, zooming in on the dames. Brent didnt say anything non-metrosexuals weren’t already thinking.

That’s how i felt when he spoke about her looks. He may not have meant it to come off the way it did, but I was very uncomfortable with it, and all I could think of was that I was glad that the young lady didn’t have to hear him say it...at least not live. She is beautiful, but I’d be surprised if beauty is her only redeeming quality.

No doubt a gorgeous woman. Wonderful eyes.
But with out those plastic grapefruits on her chest, would she have had a chance in the Miss Alabama pagent.

Watch 2 1/2 minutes of 2 1/2 men and it makes Musburger seem like a Puritan.

Musburger Criticized for Remarks About Stars Girlfriend During Title Game Is it now politically incorrect to state that a person is attractive? What the hell is wrong with that? She was Miss Alabama, winner of a beauty contest.

Why would you have a girl write a column about a football game? Why? Does she know the difference between a touchdown and a touch back?
