Had a discussion with a friend the other day. He’s a proud Porsche owner. After pounding into his brain the difference between automatic and semi-automatic weapons, which wasn’t too easy, I told him a story. I had a friend in Milwaukee who took the body off of an old VW Beetle, and installed a fiberglass replica of a Porsche body. I asked my lib Porsche-owning friend, “Is that car a Porsche?”: “Of course not!” was his indignant reply. I then asked him, “Should we ban all VWs that have replica Porsche bodies on them?”
sounds like my response to a guy who thought semi-autos and high capacity mags should be taken away because no one “needs them.”
i said “fine, lets go pull that big v8 out of your corvette, put in a 4cylinder, and restrict it to 55mph.. because no one ‘needs’ that much power in a car.”
